We did have coffee and home made cakes, yummy. The sculpture garden is teeming with pieces which are good and some quirky , some very large. But in this hillside setting amongst trees, river and lake it is quite magical and up lifting. So pleased...More

We had a great lunch here before driving home...set us up nicely for the 6+hour trip. This is NOT a place for a rushed lunch; very much slow food, and none the worse for that, so don't go if you're in a hurry or impatient...More

I like Broomhill a lot and this latest visit was excellent. We had tapas for lunch. If you order three tapas it comes on a plate in different dishes for a special price (very good value). Between me, my wife, mother in law and kids...More

Having only recently discovered that with a little bushwhacking and bovine negotiations, I can walk to this place I have discovered there is something amazing hidden in the valley! OK, first of all, the sculpture gardens are incredible. I was expecting a typically half-hearted, arty...More

The food was very good, well presented with an attention to detail including edible flowers and other nice touches. We had veggies and vegans with us and they had lots of choice, so a very happy group overall. Puddings also very good and again very...More

The 3 for £10 tapas lunch provides a varied, unusual and high quality lunch. We had that menu each and shared cake and coffee. We did not leave hungry. The staff are charming. I recommend you book several days in advance if you want the...More

Haven't been to the Sculpture Garden for 6 years. Well worth a visit! The 'old' hotel (from 15 years ago) now transformed. Art, sculpture and pleasant ambience - that's just the inside. Outside - you can still eat - but the gardens and sculptures really...More

We ordered three portions each of the generous and unusual tapas. Authentic and beautifully seasoned with interesting choices for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Will definitely be eating again next time we're near Barnstaple.

Description
Nestling in a gloriously green woodland valley, two miles from Barnstaple, Broomhill is a stunning late Victorian hotel with a twist ... there is fantastic art everywhere. With an award-winning restaurant, contemporary art gallery and sculpture gardens displaying an eclectic collection of over 300 sculptures, Broomhill sits in 15 acres of magnificent wild woodland valley and beautifully cultivated gardens.

Broomhill’s award winning Terra Madre restaurant subscribes to the ‘slow food’ philosophy with respect for authentic produce and local ingredients paramount to our offering ... pure celebration on a plate. Consisting of mainly Mediterranean cuisine inspired from our travels, and using fresh, organic, fair trade produce from neighbouring farms and the coast, the menu affords splendid choice and excellent value.

Pre-booked, 3 course lunch and dinner is served in our intimate restaurant or Tapas and bar meals are served in the Gallery or on the sun-warmed terrace. We invite you to experience our blend of hospitality and passion, inextricably linked through art and food.
