Set at the foot of May Hill in Gloucestershire is Glasshouse which seems to consist of 2 cottages and the Glasshouse Inn. It was a magical drive there this week despite the rain because every field and copse and roadside verge was full of wild daffodils. When we arrived at the pub there was a cosy log fire to welcome... Having been told this was the best place around to eat, my partner and I decided to go there for our anniversary. He rang in mid-week to book a table and was assured there was no need as they could always fit two people in, which turned out to be a complete fabrication. We turned up between 6 and 7... More

Good food, menu not changed for a little no time. Fish and chips always good. Landlord can be a bit rude, but you just have to ignore him!

Visit regularly for the traditional and ambient atmosphere. Good unpretentious grub in a lovely setting. Be prepared though for lots of stuffed wildlife on the walls! Old-fashioned but not dated......great for connoisseurs of old English traditional pubs. Roaring fires lend to the cosiness. Landlord is a bit unpredictable in his moods but it doesn't seem to put people off! Book... More

Had fabulous fish and chips with a friends Tuesday. Have taken many friends to this wonderful country pub, with an excellent atmosphere! Excellent food, great land lord and staff.! I have never been disappointed, can't wait for my next visit.

I was taken by a friend for a meal at this lovely venue, We were treated to a glowing fire which we sat beside to enjoy a wonderful meal. The service was good, nothing was to much trouble. My friend has enjoyed meals here many times with other friends and tells me it is one of her favourite.I will certainly... More

We tried the pub on a Monday night having not read others comments about The Glasshouse Inn. Outside it did make it clear that dogs are not allowed inside nor are children under the age of fourteen, I can understand why that put alot of peoples back up. We ordered our drinks at the bar and got the menu's from... More

I go here quite often and I like it. Good beer (if you like Butcombe that is) and a great ambience in a proper rural pub. Landlord has zero interpersonal skills so best avoided. Zero tolerance of (1) Under 14s (2) Dogs (though I snuck mine in once when he took pity on her looking very cold wet and miserable... More

This is my most favourite place to eat, food is always delicious, staff very friendly and nice you can have a meal in peace with no children running around or screaming. Highly recommend.
