We went back for more coffee the next day! If I'd know how close it was to our Bahia del sol hotel, I would have walked/run for coffee and breakfast everyday! Lunch: Salad, tacos and little cookie bites (YUM!) were perfect, great service and nice...More

Checked Tripadvisor for suggestions about where to eat in Potrero. Chose The Shack and we were not disappointed. When we arrived, we had to order quickly because they are only open for breakfast and lunch, but at no time did we feel like we were...More

Visited twice during vacation and did not disappoint. Pancakes and chicken burritos kept the kids happy and fed, ideal spot for breakfast and a quick lunch. Delicious and Jay was an ideal host, full of information and travel tips. Will visit again for sure!

Like many eateries in the area, The Shack is open-air with a thatched roof. Run by a very friendly American expatriate who was happy to hang out and chat with us. The food was tasty - we went for brunch. Overall great service and excellent...More

Drinking coffee at the shack right now. I have no complaints concerning this place. Staff is great, coffee great of course. I've tried the el sand which, el tico and sunrise burrito. Loved it all. Iced coffee is bomber :] Come get the breakfast.

Yes they are. At the time we were there they did the exchange rate as 500 colones was equal to 1 US dollar when charging your card. We had a card that didn't charge any international fee also so it was a pretty good deal.
