We selected Villa 32 for the hot springs and decided to book lunch as well. What a hidden gem. The hot springs set up at the hotel is amazing with multiple cold and hot springs. Large trees cover the springs allowing for a peaceful and...shaded area to relax. After a couple hours enjoying the springs we were presented a spectacular lunch. We selected the set menu and it did not disappoint. One of many amazing meals in Taipei. From the central part of Taipei we took the metro (about 45 min ride) to the hot springs. Will visit again the next time we are in Taipei.More
My wife and I had the special white truffle dinner for her birthday--an extravagance that we would only consider on a very special occasion. Unfortunately a pair of men (not from Taiwan) were seated next to us, and every 30 seconds or so, one of...them would clear his throat in a very loud way, more like a yell. It literally could be heard even outside of the building (which we discovered after we were moved outside the building to get away from them). For one of the most expensive meals of my life, this was not acceptable. Although the servers were gracious and accommodating in almost every way, it was the offending diners who should have been moved or asked to either quiet down or leave, just as the parents of a screaming infant would be told. The restaurant management either did not know how to deal with the situation, or was unwilling to do so. At this price point, the entire experience needs to be right, and unfortunately our night was ruined.More
Was staying at villa 32 and had dinner here
They have various set dinners, appears to have a la carte too, though not made clear
Western style, perhaps french. Pretty plating/presentation , and good tastes in most dishes. Nothing really stood out though
So we came to this hot spring resort in 北投 beitou district famous for their sulfur hot Springs. There are many resorts in this area that offer but Villa 32 is probably on the higher end of scale and look, feel quite exclusive and you...came away feeling pampered.
We went for the Hot Springs (8 hot ones and 2 cold ones), there's also dry heat sauna and moist heat sauna. Full facility for showers, refreshing drinks, towels, robes, hairdryer, nice toiletries in a serene, clean, classic Japanese Style. Thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable.
Afterwards, we spent few hours in their 32 Italian/French restaurant for dinner. Set meals at a very reasonable roughly $100US PP and even after wine and service charge, for what they served you it was quite good value compared to in the US.
Excellent service, beautiful decor, unhurried meals. Great way to wrap up the night.
The pictures didn't do justice, there were more courses. Great taste, beautiful presentations.More
Despite being a Japanese style hotel the Italian food is excellent. The wine list now includes Spanish/Italian/USA and Australian wines but is predominantly French. Not cheap but well worth the effort. About 20 minutes from the CBD. Be on time!
This restaurant is located in a great yet private environment that allow you dine in the great environment. Not only the gourmet is good & keep improving, but also the food presentation is in high quality. The tableware is great as well. We had fish...broth with mince green onion, fried octopus, pan fried fish with shrimp & cakes , as well as free added appetizer and all were up to good standards & flavors. The service is always excellent & the wine list is great.
Took a private hot tub room for 90 minutes. It was clean and the water hot. View from the tub was of pipes and the rear of other buildings - not what we had hoped for. Quite expensive - would not return
Was by far the highlight of the trip. This place charges a premium (NTD 3600 for 90min private spa). Totally worth it. From the amazing entrance to the awesome hot spring room oozes luxury and the service was great too. Totally worth the price. We...even had an amazing wine afterwards from their bar.More
The tea service is fine. The tea itself is lovely, but the snacks are heavily weighted towards overly sweet deserts (not much in the way of savory). Depending on what you're looking for, this maybe the right option for you - as a way to...cap off your visit to the hot springs, it works quite well!More
