Slightly on the expensive side Beef was really tender, soup was nice. Sign (In Chinese) noted the flavour of all food items served are on the more flavourful side -- Sound out to the staff taking your orders if you would like customisation. Different groups...of customers sitting at same table. Do check your "receipt" when handed to ensure the staff notes the correct amount. Queuing: Worth it to queue for <10 minutes. Can ask the staff what's the estimated waiting time for your group size. Groups at the back may be fast tracked to fit the seating arrangements.More

I was looking forward to this after reading and hearing the many positive reviews. There was a long queue at 3pm. Luckily, I decided not to join the queue then. I came back at 5pm and there was a much shorter queue. I ordered the...mixed tendon/meat noodles and it looked disappointing. The taste matched the look. I did not finish my noodles. When I left at the peak of dinnertime, there was no more line. Obviously, people have gotten wiser too. I had much better versions at DTF. Heck. The instant version I had the night before was better.More

There are many good options for beef noodles and this is one of them! Don’t miss out on the beef noodles here! Broth and meat are both super yummy and you can finish off with dessert at a shaved ice or bubble tea place around...the corner. Both our boys (10 and 7) loved the noodles. I had heard so much about Yongkang beef noodle soup. I was really excited to be able to try it finally! We went on a Thursday afternoon at 3:15 and there was a line outside of the restaurant! Wow!! The beef noodle soup did not...disappoint and was worth the wait. We also had the steamed pork ribs with rice. I did not expect the dish to be spicy but it was and it was lovely.More

Better than any beef noodles I've had in the US, but definitely disappointing compared to other places in Taipei (Taoyuan St!!). Broth: hong shao is spicy, rich, but way too heavy on the soy sauce. Kind of boring, and I preferred the clear broth here....Noodles: awfully average and not chewy at all. Beef: the best part! They're quite generous on the beef chunks, even considering the price. Super tender and pull-apart, but kind of ruined by the abundance of tough tendon. I kept thinking about how Taoyuan St's beef just melts in your mouth with no resistance. I think Yong Kang's worth a one-time visit, but nothing more. Locals and family I've talked to all say that there's much better beef noodle soup in Taipei, and usually recommend the shop on Taoyuan Street.More

Standard stuff. Did the pancakes down the road and walk over to join the queue with 15mins before opening. Just did basic spicy beef noodles. It was an enjoyable dish to eat, the noodles perfect and beef was super tender. The reason I gave a...3/5 is I’m hearing too much about the depth of flavour in the broth. Trust me- it didn’t have “that” much. I’d eat it again anyday but no to queuing or going out of my way for it. My tip is- there’s pickled veges on each table. I was totally impressed by the traditional very tasty beef noodles when i first came to Taipei some 35 years ago. Since then, i had been back to Taipei a few times, but every search for the traditional beef noodles over these years did not...match my expectation. The time, I did spend more effort and asked the cab driver who had been taking me around the whole day in the vicinity of Taipei and he recommended Yong Kang. I was lucky that I got to the place around 20:30 after a whole day trip outside of Taipei, as the place closed around 21:00. The taste which i had treasured so much over the years finally came back. This place is certainly worth the praise that it has been receiving over its 56 years history. Bravo! Way to go Yong Kang!!More

Well the restaurant is an institution and famous for there beef noodles. Well the broth was very tasty but the meat disgusting, consisting only of fat and rind.

We had such a good meal here when we had some free time in between business meetings and the staff were really friendly. Would highly recommend it.

Very plain food. In previous visit to Taipei, there were long queues and we were curious to try the place given the praises. This visit, on an rainy evening, no queue and we were immediately seated. Limited menu. In short, much better noodles and soup...can be gotten elsewhere for less money.More

We only had two bowls (one large and one small) and a steamed pork rib rice, and the price was an eye watering 680TWD! The noodles were also cooked for too long and had a slightly soggy texture The taste was okay but definitely not...worth the 30-40min wait. I would recommend you visit Fu Hong Beef Noodles near Xi Men station instead which is superior in price, taste and doesnt have such a long queue. I would give this place a miss the next time I visit taipei.More
