Chanced upon this joint while searching for food at lunch time in the Sensoji Temple vicinity. There are two levels of dining areas and we were seated atop. It's typical low tables but not to worry, you need not cramp your legs while seated as...there is space below the table where you can stretch out your legs. We ordered pork and beef okinomiya and the chef cook then right in front of us on the hot plate which is part of the table. We enjoyed our lunch and would say its value for money for the experience.More

We stumbled across this restaurant and had a great experience. We loved the “pancakes” and the service was warm and efficient. Would go back and highly recommend for a light meal in traditional surrounds.

Comfortable atmosphere and have good guidance on how to cook, the food is delicious too. If you dunno how to cook, they can also offer you the cook service (20 minutes wait time). The location is very near the temples , convenient to go as...well. Recommended to make reservation and the waiting time can be quite longMore

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant while exploring the sidestreets of Asakusa. I was wanting okanomiyaki so we stopped here on a whim and, boy are we glad we did. We were asked to go upstairs, we took off our shoes and were...greeted by a warm, inviting exterior. The staff helped us with an English menu and were so sweet to us when we didn’t understand certain elements of the menu. We were able to make the okanomiyaki ourselves right on the table! A fellow diner helped us when we didn’t understand and they even printed a picture of us as a souvenir. I wish I could come here everyday!More

The time we spent at the restaurant was filled with hospitality. Also, not to mention, okonomiyaki and fried noodles which that they provided were very delicious. Highly recommend. Thank you very much, Asakusa Tsurujirou san!

Lined up for about 30mins but once inside we were greeted by the friendliest staff. Upstairs you take your shoes off and place them into a locker. There is a hot plate on the table for you or the staff your meal. The okonomiyaki was...absolutely delicious and it's a very cool concept to prep and cook it yourself. English menus are available. Upon leaving they gave my little one a balloon shaped as a dog. Highly recommend this place 👌More

Despite the waiting line outside which is normal in Japan for any good restaurants, the experience was 10/10. The staff was gentle and very friendly, the beer was cold and delicious. It's was my first time eating a okonomiaki and Im not disappointed. The taste..., flavors and texture was on point. It is very easy to cook your own. You only have to follow the instruction (English available). I recommend this place to any travellers in Tokyo, Japan.More

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping

I think they have downstairs counter seating, but the tatami seating actually has a drop down floor so you aren’t sitting cross-legged or on your knees the whole time. I would highly recommend that route!
