Traditional country pub with great food and a wide selection of beers. It can get busy so I'd advise getting there early and placing your food order promptly as it's all freshly prepared... great chips! Really friendly atmosphere and a perfect place to end up after a walk around the local countryside.

Feels like it wouldn't be out of place in a programme like Heartbeat, and that's not a bad thing! Small and perfectly formed. They accommodated 11 of us on Mothering Sunday and the hospitality and food was excellent. If you're in the area, call in...you won't regret it.

We took my parents here for Mother's Day and all had a fantastic experience. The pub is very traditional-Derbyshire and looks very rustic. It's also small. I wouldn't suggest going here for a quiet, romantic meal :) But I would suggest going here for everything else! The beer is fantastic and local (I had the Ayup from the Dancing Duck... More

This place is a brilliant country pub. The landlord and lady are always friendly and the atmosphere is always welcoming. They have Well priced beers on tap. My boyfriend and I have had several meals here and the food never disappoints. They serve homemade pizzas on Thursday and Friday evenings which are delicious.

This is my local and I can honestly say that this pub is as good as it was forty years ago. There is good home cooking and Liggy and Tracy make everyone extremely welcome.

Although I live in Hong Kong and only come back to Derbyshire once or twice a year, I was very disappointed by my visit this time around. I dropped in for a drink late-afternoon on my way between Holloway and Crich. I simply wanted a drink and break from two demanding kids at their Grandparents' house. I parked next to... More

Hello again and thank you for your review. Wow! I wonder is this a review of the cliff or the Black Swan? Since you came in this time our seats have been reupholstered and we are gradually redecorating as and when we can. Unfortunately we cannot do it all quickly here as we do everything ourselves as and when time... More
