Food near Denali is expensive. I was on my way back to anchorage so cooking wasn't a great option for lunch. The black bear has the most appealing menu out of the touristy stops right outside Denali. On our ill-fated Denali Princess Wilderness lodge stay, when there was no water and therefore no coffee, we returned from the Denali excursion, caffeine-deprived, only to find our hotel still had no water or plumbing. stop there on my way through the bitty town every chance I get! The staff is a cool group of out of towners - as everyone is an out-of-towner! They're friendly and gave me a hug when I asked ^^

Great coffee, amazing breakfast and luck. You could grab and go too. The sweet potato pastries are yummy. Nice outdoor seating. Loved this place.

The food served here was great for breakfast/brunch and good for take-aways. If you are looking to pack sandwiches and bites for your hike in Denali, this a good place to get them. Very good coffee and a few tables outside where you can relax and enjoy drinking your cup. We had amazing weather and sat in the sun for a break during our shopping in the various stores on each sides of Black Bear Coffee. There is ample parking in front of the shop.

This rustic restaurant was across the street from the Princess Lodge where we were staying. It was a fun and laid-back Alaska atmosphere.
