Sumptuous beef dinner with all the trimmings, and the Lamb Henry was delicious while it was whale and chips not fish! Definitely recommended.

Popped in for lunch on the way to Penrith, nice food , wine and service. Dogs welcome, great outdoor area to front and back, perfect in warmer weather. Would definitely come again

Have been visiting the inn for over 15 years and this visit was by far our worst. We had a sunny evening meal and enjoyed our main courses, however the mushroom starter was cold. Our biggest problem though was the number of dogs. I have no problem with the odd one but when they surround you whilst eating food, with... More

hi chaff thanks for reviewing us, we apologise that you had an average experience. Positives, we are happy you enjoyed your main course. Negatives- we are deeply sorry you thought your starter was cold, nothing mentioned at the time, we would of happily refunded this. The issue with dogs unfortunately we have to cater for our business clientele, which is... More

Traditional good sized pub in the heart of Pooley Bridge. Generous portions on offer and a big menu. You order at the bar and they pass you a tray of sauces, condiments and cutlery, thought this was a good idea as you're not hanging around for said items when your food arrives!

Dined here during our stay in Pooley Bridge..The food and service were really good. The hotel has a fantastic old world look and carries a range of craft ales and beers. Prices are very competitive for both drinks and food. We recommend this hotel very highly.

Although busy, managed to get a free parking space here, which is a bonus when visiting places in Lake District. What time of year you visit will signal what experience you will have here. Sometimes full of hikers, other times families. I've visited 3 times and stayed once and the staff and locals are always very welcoming. The food is... More

Popped in for a quick drink. Place is geared towards walkers with dogs. Plenty of people eating so it must be OK but looked pretty tired.

We went to The Pooley Bridge Inn to have a meal, but on arrival found that the bar was freezing cold, People were sat with coats on, so was disappointed that staff never noticed. We went to change seats to find somewhere warmer, but the bar area smelled very strong of disinfectant, which was really awful. We finished our drinks and... More

I wish this was my local pub! Great food (and lots to choose from), friendly staff, rustic charm with plenty of space and we could bring the dog and sit where we liked. In fact, this is obviously a pub that welcomes dogs as there were lots of them, which we really liked. The pub also provided Old Rosie cider,... More

Stopped off on a windy, rainy day and had some lovely food. Staff were friendly, pub was warm (when the door wasn't left open !!) And the food was great. Definitely visit again
