We had a lovely dining experience whilst on holiday. My husband (who is French) claims that it was one of the best meals he has ever had in the UK. He had the duck and I had stuffed chicken with chorizo. We will definitely be back!

Sunday lunch is great. Pie night on a Wednesday also great (you get a pint thrown in!). Really friendly proper pub at the end of a two mile walk from Tinten (or a 5 min drive)

This is a pub hidden in the valley but if you want a Sunday lunch at a country pub it is fine. I had a traditional Sunday lunch, beef, Yorkshire pudding with generous vegetables. The beef was fine and all those I was with enjoyed there meals as shown by empty plates. The desert I had was a caramel roulade... More

We found this lovely old pub on a cold wet night. Open fires, antique music players and some really great home cooked food. The landlord is a very welcoming chap too!

We visited as 2 families on New Years Day and after the frivolities of New Years Eve we were hoping for a good Sunday Roast. We weren't disappointed in the slightest. Great setting and very cosy by the log burner. Sunday roasts were great portions and extremely tasty, they did half portions for kids too which was perfect. Highly recommended.

The Fountain was recommended by a neighbour and since our local closed 5 years ago, this is now the joint closest pub - thing is it's well hidden in the sticks but well worth seeking out. The atmosphere is always cosy, the welcome always warm and the food not only great value but good size portions - we usually struggle... More

Went with family friends. Lovely old fashioned pub, a bit off the beaten track out of Tintern. Food was mixed, steaks slightly overdone, game pie was lovely and well presented. Large portions and good selection of ales.

Stayed in a holiday place just up the road from the Fountain Inn. Went there for a meal on the Saturday night. Was a typical local, friendly pub. The menu was great. I am coeliac so i had to have gluten free food. this was not a problem as all the food is locally sourced and made from fresh. I... More

Wonderful little pub, gorgeous food (although my fish portion was too small). Others meals much better value.
