The food is so so. The food selection is also limited. To say the least, the expectation was not met. A reputable history lost its love.

The Rijsttafel has to be ordered by a minimum of 2 persons and is 42.50 Ang per person. The meal begins with a complementary plate of ‘kroepoek’ (prawn crackers) and sauces, along with a bowl of warm peanuts, followed shortly thereafter by a small spring roll (loempia) with a tasty sauce. The Rijsttafel consists of 7 hot and 7 cold... More

This place is for locals. It's well off the beaten path for the tourists, but that makes it a nice change. The owner is friendly and ones around to explain each of the 14 dishes. They are all very tasty.

We had the Rijsttafel (Rice table) which is a medley of dishes from all over the Indonesian islands, and a perfect introduction to the "indisch" cuisine. But make no mistake: rijsttafel, despite its Indonesian roots, is not authentically Indonesian but a relic from the period of Dutch colonization over what is now Indonesia (1602-1942). Anyway vegetarians, if you order one... More

the rijstrafel at Curanesia is mainly big in size, however unfortunately the taste is rather blend and very few surprising flavour combinations are added. Furthermore, the Dutch salads at the side are not really what one expects when visiting an Indonesian restaurant.

Yes , I enjoyed this meal of several specifics with rice or noodles called Bami. Don,t forget the sauces as peanut(sate)sauce and the sweet and sour. Services is excelent and as the front of the restaurant don,t look special, the inside is cosy and harmony. They has aswell a takeaway service with a everyday different for 10ANG(6$) popular by the... More

Curanesia is one of the great, unique dining experiences in Curaçao - incredible service, food, atmosphere and élan all rolled into one on Samta Rosaweg. The owner, Johan, is always present and quietly choreographs a relaxed dining experience that brings a rijsttafel to life. Arrive hungry and prepared for a delightful dining experience for two or more (though Johan seems... More

Curanesia is far classier than you might guess from the outside. It reminds me of the nice neighborhood place you take your parents to when they visit. Service is friendlier than at most places on the island, and the food is very tasty. My stomach was a little upset afterwards, but that could have been anything.

Ever since I experienced eating at a Ristaffel in Amsterdam while stationed in Italy during my Air Force years in the 60s I wanted to do this again. Relatively newly opened, the host, the servers, and the food was excellent. Fifteen dishes in all to try. Great! Go there!
