Good fresh sashimi and an excellent selection of rolls including Dominican style with platanos. Additionally, they have a number of non-sushi dishes which are based in Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisines. Nothing special but good solid dishes as an alternative to sushi.

“Good, appealing and economical”, as the expression goes! This small, popular (especially as a Delivery Service restaurant) is noteworthy! The food (Japanese) is FRESH and prepared “on-the-spot”! The Sushi is great (do try my favorite ‘Bam Bam Roll’) Tartars, Tatakis (I like the Tuna) and they have a wide selection of noodles, Beef and Chicken plates. Delivery is excellent (and... More

Sushi Ya is a regular stop for us. If we don't eat in the restaurant, then we have it delivered, at least three to four times a month. the food is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend it if you like sushi!

I cannot even understand why those people sell sushi! I cannot even think about those poor fish ending in their place (I am not even talking about kitchen!) Miles of carrot to create some volume poor marron pieces of tuna or sneaky pieces of salmon... Do not find anything else, the "good" part are sold early! They are even playing... More

I've eaten at the Sushi Ya in Santiago several times, so my review is actually based on those experiences. Although you can't really call this real sushi, it will do in a pinch. The prices are decent and so are the portions, but as noted by other reviewers, they really load up on the rice. In Santiago there are 3... More

This to me is not sushi, c'mon. filled with alot of rice and a tiny piece of fish, splattered with sweet sauces on top. Why cant these chefs be taught the correct way to roll a sushi. Th e rice should only be a thin layer with no more than 20% of rice composed in the roll. Your not fooling... More

I remember back in the day when Sushi was not a reality in the Capital. Sushi Ya has the best value in Sushi in Santo Domingo. I am sure there may be better Sushi, but your gonna pay twice a much...maybe more. Its a safe bet!
