Delicious!!! We tore it up. After eating at the hotel, we needed a break from the mediocre food options and listened to our tour guide. Best meal of the trip!!

After getting so many recommendations to try this place, my family and I decided to try it for 7pm dinner 3 nights ago. Sadly I don’t have anything positive to say. After spending about $150 USD on 4 people we don’t understand what is the...rave about this place. We chose a table on the edge of the restaurant right on the sand, the table wasn’t too clean but we decided to overlook it because after all we were on the beach where there’s breeze and sand; but the server should have offered to clean the table. The menu is very lacking of information, there’s no explanation as to what the dishes come with. We proceeded to ask the server questions and he barely knew the answers. We asked about the side dishes on the main courses and were told they come with rice, tostones & fries. When the dishes came they only had rice. When we asked about the rest of the side dishes we were told “we should have asked” when he had already asked. There were several things on the menu that were not available. The server didn’t seem like he was happy to be there at all, since our table was positioned on the bottom section right on the beach level he even mentioned it was too much work to come down the steps to hand us our drinks so he kept bringing them to us from behind making us turn around to get them. The food was not that great and portions were small for the price. When the bill came the server mentioned it was better if tip was left in cash. Although we were dissatisfied with the service we still left a tip in cash not knowing that a 10% service had already been added to the bill. So we ended up double tipping. There was nothing positive that we could possibly highlight from our dinner there other than the nice looking beach in front of us.More

I was super excited for this place, as I’d heard good things in the past. But that is no longer accurate. It was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival, it didn’t seem very organized, but we were seated quickly enough. The menu was the first red flag....Besides being dirty, it wasn’t very informative. There are no descriptions of anything, and they use broad terminology. Regardless, we ordered. Before the drinks arrived, (red flag number two) someone attempted to sell us excursions at our table. We had to say no a few times before she left. Shortly after, another lady approached, trying to offer hair braiding. Seriously, while I’m at lunch? Not very professional. Then the food arrived. Presentation was awful, the chefs salad was very unappealing, and the taste wasn’t much better. Then the meals arrived. We both had shrimp, served with vegetables. The vegetables were overcooked, and the shrimp tasted like they’d been completely coated in salt. The fried, with more salt. On top of that, they didn’t even bother to devein them. After a few bites, we decided to cut our losses and leave. They offered to replace them, but we declined. Thankfully they didn’t charge us for the main dishes. Overall, I can’t recommend this place. I’m not sure how it was ever a popular place, but it seems to have gone downhill. Maybe they can turn it around? I don’t know. But I know you can find better food at other establishments.More

The food is not very good. The prices in the catalogue is not right. Nobody of the staff speaks English so prepare google translate. One guy told us the price depends of the current price of fish and lobster. The fish and lobster laying all...day on the sun. The taxes not included in the price and they write it on the end of the catalog with small letter’s. Be careful in the end with the invoice, ours was wrong they charge us two beers and 1 water more. In the end we were calculating for one beer one bottle of water and one papaya for two around 1800DOP (1500-papaya 200-beer 100-water) and they charge us 2600DOP. Be careful they think that the tourists are stupid.More

Most popular restaurant in the area which unfortunately means very slow service. Food is quite good and the furniture and setting is very nice. Visited twice and found the meat dishes better than the seafood.

We arrived at the restaurant at about 5 pm. Few customers then. We first ordered beer and then our main courses. I had spaghetti carbonara my husband spaghetti Bolinas, and my daughter a grilled beef skewer dish. My husband and I were served our meals,...they looked like they had been prepared beforehand and were barely warm. We ate our meals and my daughter had still not been served. About 20 minutes later my daughter got her meal. Her meal was hot and tasty. No consistency of service or product. We did get a chuckle when a young boy came to the open kitchen and a man put a hose over the counter for the boy to rinse sand off his body. Cleanliness was lacking. Waiters were pulling fish out of cooler with bare hands. Definitely would not go back.More

It looks cheap and nasty, we ordered and after 20 minutes were told they didn’t have what we’d ordered, my Wife changed her order, another 20 minutes later they told us they didn’t have the fries I’d ordered. A further 20 minutes passed and we...had both our meals arrive on the same plate, along with fries that tasted like they’d been cooked, left to go cold in the oil and reheated. A totally disgusting meal, go anywhere but this awful placeMore

Really wanted seafood on our first day at the beach. The couple on the table next to us had what looked like lovely langoustines, so I ordered those, my husband ordered steak ( not a seafood lover) and chips ( the other option was white...rice). About 20 mins later the waiter returned to say they had no more langoustines and would shrimp do. Disappointed, but I said yes. Another 20 mins passed and he returned again to say they had run out of chips/ fries. I don’t eat rice, so looked really disappointed, so he went off to see what he could do. Then our meal arrived- on the same plate ! One piece of leather that tried to be a steak, a handful of prawns ( which tasted as if they had been in the fridge for a week) and what I can only describe as the worst fries I had ever seen- they were so over cooked I suspect that they had been scraped up from somewhere already cooked, then heated up again for us! It was so dreadful it was funny, but overall really disappointing first meal. Not cheap either !More

Captain Cook Is probably the only restaurant in punta cana and bavaro. From out side looks quite local but i am telling you. Here local and tourists share the place. Directly on the beach. Fresh fish, shrimps prowns and lobster. Emanuel is a greta person...who served us and we enjoyed his hospitalityMore
