Amazing inventive food in a beautiful setting, L’optimiste will seduce your palate and the service is efficient & friendly. As a group of 8, we were able to see many items from their menu. Fois gras was generous and well presented, white lasagna amazingly tasty...& surprising. Definitely a strong recommandation if you happen to be in St Francois or nearby (aka worth a detour in my view). The terrace is very nice with the marina so arrive before sunset.More
I enjoyed the lobster ravioli while my dining companions enjoyed the fish of the day and the white lasagna. The setting is beautiful and there was live music playing nearby.

Agnes takes her kitchen to a different level, definitely a Michelin star type of experience. Every dish served was a perfect combination of taste , look and smell, definitely a must try while in the area !

This chic and gastronomic address in Saint-Francois' place-to-be marina was the perfect setting for a birthday dinner. Savoury dips and crackers accompanied our aperitif before the three of us tucked into two starters of a 'flan de poisson' served with a ouassa (local crayfish) bisque...and courgette ribbons. While I continued the creole theme with a risotto and fricassee of local octopus and kidney beans topped with a couple of mildly fiery chillies, my companions enjoyed a gin flambeed dish of cassolette of organic chicken and sweetbreads, and a steak tartare served with fresh capers, olives, dried tomatoes, rocket and roasted potatoes. The enviable setting and intriguing menu make for a winning combination. Reservation recommended.More

There are a host of restaurants around the St Francois marina - the newest of which is L’Optimiste: a charming establishment where the food is far more than the standard Caribbean faire. The boutique restaurant, run by longtime friends from The Netherlands, offers the best...service and the most delicious food we have eaten on our month-long seven-nation Caribbean tour. In addition to the quality food, be sure to sample their offering of local small-batch artisan rums. OMG!!! So good we had to track down the distillery and bring some back home!More
