Eat local! Always good crowd because the place is great. Asopao for lunch is a go to. If you order a fish expect them to bring it out whole. Dive in and enjoy!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday around noon. We took two seats at the old school winding counter and our server gave us a moment to look over the placemat menu and took our drink order. While they offer coffees, tea, juice, and beer we stick with water. My wife ordered the garlic shrimp and I... More

This is a restaurant where everything works. Very local, and very warm. I just love places like this one. It is very well located, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food. I would highly recommended it to any food lover while traveling.

We went here based on the recommendation of a local bus driver, and thoroughly enjoyed it! The menu is full of local favorites - mofungo, rice and beans, and plantains - everything is delicious and the prices are very reasonable for the full portions. You can tell this is where local folks eat. We loved it and went back a... More

We asked for an authentic lunch place and we found it. This was awesome. Ask for the specials. A nice menu of great choices. The service was perfect. Don't be in a hurry. the food take a bit to prepare. The line for a table gets long at lunch time. Sit at the counter. The staff was so nice. YUMMY

I had my first mofongo here. It was so good. It comes in big portion that can be shared by 2 people. The waitress behind the counter is so lovely. She is busy running around attending other customers, but she would always come back to make sure you're ok. I love this place - great food, great service. What more... More

We ate here on the recommendation of an employee at the tourist bureau. We asked him where local people ate, and he suggested this counter-style/diner-style restaurant. Sure enough, the place was crowded with residents, local office workers, and tourists. The service was great -- the servers were friendly, no-nonsense, organized and attentive. The food was tasty, too. It is a... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the locals as the spot for the true San Juan experience. Well and most of their crowd was locals. The food was pretty good given the price range. I'd not call it great though but it was an experience for sure!

A very basic and popular spot. A true experience. No thrills or gimmicks. A natural down to earth food experience. The best !!
