Was in Old San Juan for a short visit prior to departing on a cruise. This was a recommendation by a family member who is a local. The food was very good and portioned well. The waiter was very nice and made recommendations. The only downside was that it was VERY cold in the restaurant. I am guessing there was... More

Cafe Manolin is rated currently as number as number 21 on the list of restaurants in San Juan and was very close to the hotel we were staying at, so we gave it a go for a quick lunch. The food was pretty tasty and the prices competitive for the expensive area, not much to say about the decoration, it... More

Actually our border officer was kind enough to recommend some places in San Juan and Manolin was one of them. We didn't stay in Old San Juan but we went to have breakfast & lunch at Manolin as many times as we could. Prices are cheap for San Juan average and food is really good. Coffee is amazing and Avena... More

A locals place. I was the only gringo in the place. Their coffee is steamed and exceptional and the food very inexpensive. I had 2 eggs with their own bread and a pile of bacon for $3.50. The first cup of coffee is 90 cents with additional cups at 1.35. The desk clerk at Hotel CasaBlanca, Roberto, recommended the place.... More

I just went there last Sunday for lunch. It's kind of a Diner seating, but also some tables. Nice variety on the Menu.I had a Churrasco with Tostones de Pana. It was delicous, with a side salad. It was a mixed salad, not the typical Lettuce/Tomato.They had a nice Chimichurri, different hot sauces. The Plate was only about $ 10 plus... More

I love having breakfast in Manolin because it reminds the good old times in Old San Juan, when I was a girl. They are very nice, food is good and you spend your time in a place that reminds you the power of friendship and service.

Coming from the Bacardi tour and having some serious battles with the "hangries" in our group, cafe manolin was the right spot. Very good food for a reasonable price. Churrasco with their chimicurri sauce was very tasty Lunch was good with very good size portions...(hangries were subsided with no casualties for those concerned) Seems like breakfast would be good and... We sat at the counter and enjoyed the busy and vibrant ambiance. My camarones al ajillo and amarillos (plantains) were tasty and just the right amount of food. My inly regret was not ordering rice to go with the yummy garlic sauce. My husband had the steak with onion which he appreciated. Avoid the tres leches desert as it is... More

My husband and I had lunch here. The food was good, but not as good as other places we ate. Service was good. The prices were what I thought expensive for lunch, but not untypical of other places in Old San Juan.

Went there by accident - the two places we planned to go both closed for Monday. But we are utterly happy to have found it. Being a Monday without cruise ship, the overwhelming majority of the clientele were locals on lunch break, and they all seem to know each other. Within 15 min since we were seated, we were surrounded... More
