Good food, in fact great food.....but goodness gracious it is shockingly slow! I couldn't believe how long it took, to be fair they did warn us the kitchen was slow....however I had no idea it'd be that slow. I would recommend this restaurant if they could fix kitchen times.

After leaving a restaurant in the busier part of Old San Juan, we found ourselves at La Madre; and had 2 seats at the bar. It is always a good sign when the place is filled with locals. Mari was our bartender and she was a blast. Not only was the food excellent but so was the company. We had... More

This is one of the best places to eat. The Duck quesadilla and coconut Margarita are amazing. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent stop for dinner in the heart of Old San Juan! My husband had the tuna steak and I had the La Madrid Tacos (chicken). Very very good!

We stopped in on a Sunday as we strolled around the shops of San Juan. Sat at the bar and watched every drink being crafted with the freshest ingredients. Highly recommend it!!

Madre mia! In the menu it looked fair enough, and the restaurant was among the recommended by my hotel concierge. Got a bad feeling before I ordered, but was in no mood to look around for alternative restaurants. So I took the chance. What a disappointment it was. Three corn tapas with chicken, luke warm, and I will only describe... More

I'm going to admit that this wasn't our first choice but it ended up working out perfectly. Excellent brunch options and everyone loved what they ordered. I fell in love with the Flor de Jamaica lemonade. The server was super-friendly too. I will return on my next visit to PR.

The chef came to our table to congratulate us on the choices we made - roasted tuna and beef fajitas. Without a doubt, this was our favorite restaurant in PR. Lemonade is great too!

I went for a meal with a friend and loved the food. We had Ceviche and pork ribs and the food was just delicious!

The place was empty on a wednesday afternoon, so I can't comment how service would be on a busier day. Nevertheless, it was pleasant and quick. I had the carnitas. For $13, the plate was massive, and, better yet, delectable. The carnitas were very crunchy on the outside and oh so tender on the inside. This place is worth exploring... More
