My wife and I have visited Puerto Rico before, and we like having new experiences each time. But the one place we go to EVERY TIME is Chocobar Cortes! What a delightful place! Be sure to visit! (And the Cortes Company has a wonderful mission,...too!)More

This place is amazing! Everything you order has chocolate in it. Servers were friendly and helpful, like our server Tere who was respectful, friendly and attentive. She took good care of us. The croissant with chocolate filling is a must for chocolate lovers. Definitely recommend.

They forgot one of the meals and didn’t apologise. They blamed us for miscommunication And then made us pay for it. Had to wait 30 minutes and the food was tasteless cold and soggy

My first time at this place and just loved it. Definitely a must do again!! This is not only a restaurant but also a mini museum and showcase for Chocolate Cortes and the family that has kept it alive. They are also philanthropists and sponsors...of various local artists. We had a hour to wait but were welcome to wait inside. After checking our proof of vaccination and providing hand sanitizer the staff showed us to the upstairs, where the mini-museum and showcase that I mentioned above is located. Very nicely done and it provides background history and information regarding the company and the family behind it. Worth the wait and you learn a little local history as well. Everything at Chocobar has chocolate as a primary or secondary ingredient, everything is amazing! We went to Chocobar for brunch at the recommendation of family and were not disappointedl (they are foodies, after all!) I started with a Passion Fruit Mojito (and yes, it does have chocolate in it!) and it did not disappoint in the least. My only complaint is that they missed my request for a second one... Their hot chocolate is incredible! The menu is outstanding and very tasty. Everything was delicious and very filling without being too much. (see pic's). We ordered the Chocoburger, Chalupitas de Mofongo, and Avocado Toast. They included their own hot sauce (I love hot sauce!) as condiment. Conveniently, they also sell it in TSA-compliant 4 oz bottles. Yes, of course I bought one! It's amazing, great taste and only hot enough to make the point. This wonderful place is on the "must visit again" list. I'll be sure to bring more friends to experience and enjoy their food (and mojitos!) Their staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the restaurant history and background. Charlie was our server and he was very attentive. Highly recommended!More

Choco Bar: The cart out front can be used for a waiting area. Supposed to be open until 7PM tonight. Kalvin is waiting on us. He suggested the risotto Mamposteado or the Coquito Cortez drink. Ordered a Sam Adam’s chocolate stout. Starting off with a...cheddar chocolate grilled cheese sandwich. Ordered a Chocobar salad bowl with added chicken and 2 croissants with chocolate hazelnut filling, 2 quesitos, chocolate martini, coffee americano and a Puerto Rican dark hot chocolate 80% dark chocolate. The cheddar was hardened and was not soft and ooey or gooey as expected of a grilled cheese. It tastes good, would be even better if it was warm and ooey gooey I am sure. I didn’t get any of the cheese pull since it the cheese had hardened too much. Our dirty plate from our chocolate grilled cheese has been sitting at our desk for a while. The chocolate quesito has a really nice crunchy crust of chocolate and dough. It’s chocolatey with a hint of the cream cheese. The Sam Adam’s chocolate stout was tasty, more chocolatey than stout flavoring, but good still. A small piece if cheddar cheese to clean my palate for the hot chocolate. The dark chocolate isn’t bad, has the bitterness of dark chocolate. The chocolate martini tastes just like chocolate, can’t taste the alcohol at all. The coffee americano is not warm and is basic. The hazelnut chocolate croissant had an injection of hazelnut and it didn’t taste as sweet as I was expecting, it was okay. The croissant was nice, had a nice flaky crust. The salad was decent. The chocolate vinaigrette is tasty. The salad itself is so-so. The grilled chicken was over cooked and gristly on parts too. I also had a lettuce end in my salad and there wasn’t a lot of lettuce in my salad either. Wasn’t loving the super crispy chick peas much.More

We loved discovering Chocobar Cortes in old San Juan. The chocolate is beyond delicious, and the service is top notch. They have so many innovative offerings all with chocolate infused in the creation of things like grilled cheese sandwiches, ketchup for french fries....everything has great...chocolate added. You will not regret going to this restaurant...we went every day we were in San Juan!More
