You have got to eat here! The man taking our order spoke English very well. He brought us a taste of several of their side dishes so we can decide which one we like the best. We picked the sweet potato and also had two different rice dishes with our meal. While we were waiting for the meat to come... More

We ate lunch here and it was absolutely amazing! The food is out of this world and the service was terrific. We had one pound of the pork, rice and beans and fried plantains. Everything was excellent. We also had pina coladas, which I would highly recommend! All of the seating is outdoors, however, it is all covered and there's... More

We went for dinner and they were out of lechon and dessert amongst over things. We tried several items on the menu and the skirt steak on tostones was by far the best. I did not care for the chicken we had. It seemed like it was just old cubed chicken they heated up in red sauce.

The only Roadside pork stand in Dorado which is one of the signature foody attraction in PR. You can sit and have pork, ribs, PR rice or I took the easlier way out. I order a portion of roast pork with skin that is moist with crunchy skin for $10. Great blood sausage and of coarse rice. Both yellow rice... More

This is a no - miss on your stay in PR. The food is amazing! The atmosphere is loud and fun but I loved it. We took our family of 4 and the kids hung out while the adults enjoyed the tasty food and adult beverages. Consider this a fancier food truck like location. If you are looking for a... More

Good food and a nice place to spend time with family. My recommendation is to visit with patience, since the place is visited by big groups and food takes time.

Went on a Saturday about noon. All pork was gone. Asked about other items and they did not have anymore. Opted to order finger food and chicken plates. Food was not too appetizing. Chicken was hard and chewy. Beers were ok in temperature. The cost was outrageous for a place that is essentially a food truck. None of us felt... More

So an important tradition in Puerto Rico is to eat open pit roast pork. It is delicious! Lucky for us A La Vara serves it whole year round. Do not miss it!

Description
Your place is a very casual restaurant for everyone that wants to eat fresh and local. With some international flavors that makes you try our complete menu.
We specialized in Roast Pork and Chicken on weekends. Also we prepare "local turnovers" like the rabbit or the Churrasco marinated in tequila and orange juice.
Soups or creams are also available. We have a very nice ambiance and there is always interaction with locals and guests.

On Sunday's we have LIVE MUSIC to have a Chilling and Relax time.

Hope to see you.,,Buen Provecho!!!
