The atmosphere was open air and Caribbean. Each table had a wine/water bucket built into the table. Service was seamless and included extra dishes that were included in the price. We had scallops that were perfect and then beef fillet which was prepared exactly as ordered. As it was our 5 year anniversary we enjoyed a bottle of Chateauneuf du... More

What needs to be said, cocoa in everything, why didn't I think of this. My husband is a very picky eater and he loved all the different dips/spreads that they served with the bread prior to the meal and loved his meal. We both thought the dessert was amazing. Wish they had a restaurant like this near my house!

This restaurant had the best ambiance in Soufriere! The wait staff was perfect. The meals were all perfect. Kind of a foodie menu, but we all found something to eat. Mahi-mahi was superb. White fin tuna was excellent. The shooter of pumpkin soup was excellent. And the desserts - to die for. We had the banana in chocolate soup, the... More

WOW.... great setting, has a very urban, upscale, tropical vibe. The food was to die for. The chocolate balsamic.... I can't stop thinking about it. Along with the fresh backed cinnamon bread, chocolate butter, and chocolate onion soup.... heaven. I had this amazing vegan meal as my main - all root veggies - but portion size could have been bigger!

Urban, Upscale & tropical vibe – thank you. The exact feel we hoped to create when we fell upon this beautiful part of the island. We are very lucky to have such a stunning primordial canvas to work with. More

Fabulous fabulous meal at Boucan! We had mango belinis, beautiful red wine, beef tartare, the veal and pork tenderloin followed by an amazing lava cake and key-lime pie 'Boucan-style'. One of the best meals of our lives. Lots of cacao and chocolate accents but nothing that took over. Subtle and delicious!

Thank you, its important to us that we only use cocoa where it works and doesn’t dominate any of the beautiful fresh local ingredients More

We visited Boucan Restaurant for lunch during a self drive tour of the South. For the wife it was the only reason to do the tour - she loves Hotel Chocolat!! We arrived about 11:50 and were asked to sit in the small lounge area as the Restaurant does not open until 12:00. At 12:00 we were shown to our... More

We stopped here around 8 am and was surprised how vacant this restaurant was. The view is incredible and the food is very good and reasonably priced. We got the "Full Breakfast" to share ($25 USD) and was glad we did because there was so much food! We had fruits, yogurt, oats, bread with various spreads, eggs, veggies, and more!... More

Another beautiful view. The menu is chocolate themed. The pork was great and the desserts were even better. Not a very big menu and the wine list is small. Order drinks and/or glasses, the bottle prices are not worth it. Service was good, but not great.

Stopped by for lunch after Sulphur Springs. Service was incredibly slow. Food was overpriced and mediocre at best. The desert was pretty good and the dining view and ambiance were great. View was incredible! If I were to go again, it would be just for desert or a nice place to stay at, in the southwest part of the island.

Thank you, the view takes our breath away daily too even though we live here. Sorry you felt that the food was mediocre; we use fresh locally grown food and our menu changes seasonally. More

This is a high-end dining experience co-located in a resort on a former cocoa plantation. Nearly every dish is made with chocolate. The food is delicious, well-prepared and presented. The wait staff is well trained and pleasant. All of this, including he pricing, is consistent with a fine resort/restaurant.

Thank you It’s actually a working cocoa plantation lovingly resorted to its former glory (established in 1745) If you visit again, we would love to show you round and take you on a tour through the cocoa groves More

Description
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!
