We had a really lovely meal, the only downside was the cost which was £137 for 4 people for 1 plate of food and no wine, (no lobster either, just local line caught fish). However the staff were very helpful and the ambience was great...More

A unique menu which incorporates parts of the cocoa pod in almost every dish. An eclectic mix of international and local favourites including seafood and great dessert. The staff is attentive and helpful and the food service time is average. The covered veranda that houses...More

We had dinner at Boucan twice during our stay, because it was just that good. The view is spectacular, it's worth arriving before sunset to see the piton from the restaurant. The staff are lovely, friendly and caring. Cocktails are very good, I particularly liked...More

We stayed at Sugar Beach recently and dined at Dusheen at Ludera and the restaurants at the Sugar Beach resort and this was by far the best. It had the best atmosphere, exquisite food and wine, and was reasonably priced compared to the other restaurants...More

I booked the bean to bar tour for my husband and I. We both enjoyed, but it was not what we were expecting. We thought we would have more of a tour of the process of the plantation and how they sourced the beans etc......More

It would appear that you might of been misguided in what tour you had booked. We offer 2 tours, tree to bean which would have taken you into the nurseries and through the cocoa groves, and bean to bar tour is making your very own...More

I am sure the children enjoyed seeing the chocolate being made in the counch in the restaurant, I hope they managed to get a sampling. We only add cocoa to our recipes where it works and doesn't dominate the fresh local ingredients, some dishes are...More

The food at Boucan is delicious and the service was great!!! It's also a very pretty hotel to eat at. The food is fresh and the desserts are spectacular. Portions are not big, but you get quality rather than quantity. Highly recommend.

We had very good service, great appetizers and a superb dessert. The main meal was horrible. First they were out of the pork tenderloins we ordered. Then my husband ordered the veal. It was tough, rubbery and tasteless. Probably the worse veal he has ever...More

We are more than happy to exchange a dish at no extra cost if it turns out not to hit the spot, such a pity since it appears you enjoyed so many other elements of the Boucan exoperaince

The resort is up in the hills, so is nowhere near the water I’m afraid!! The restaurant does overlook the pool though. The menu may have changed since our stay in May, however for lunch I had lovely chickpea kebabs which... More

Description
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!
