Finally got to try Johnny B's after hearing so many years of accolades. The ribs and chicken were fantastic...meaty and tender with great flavor. The sauce is amazing. Johnny B's will be on my agenda for every future visit to St Maarten!

This place is tucked in the Simpson Bay Market, near the draw bridge. The ribs and chicken were excellent. Very small place, but worth searching for! Very friendly people!

Past reviews were split between two locations (under the tree and on Simpson Bay). The only establishment operating is on the Simpson Bay at the warf. We ordered ribs, chicken and snapper. The ribs seemed re-heated from the day before and the chicken was okay. The snapper was overdone and the portion was small (in spite of it being a... More

I had some ribs with fries with the family last Sunday, and as usual the food is always good here. Isn't my first time here! It was nice and quiet, and the personnel, locals and guests all talk with each other since it's not a very big place, which is nice!

Johnny's is yet another "Must Visit" when on the island. This year we had a difficult time getting there...because he moved! No longer under the trees. :-( One of my favorite things was the original location. Very low key down and dirty...LOVED IT! He has since moved int Sampson Bay proper, right by the bridge to the marina. Where the... More

Johnny B Under the Tree is no more, but it lives on as Jackfish in the Simpson Bay Market. Johnny is now there, oprating a sit down restaurant. Most dishes are accompanied by rice and peas, a salad, a fried plantain, and potato or pasta salad. For the adventurous, ask for Johnny's home made hot sauce. At last visit, we had... More

We have been going to Johnny B's for many years and have always had top notch service and the food is amazing. Ribs so tender, fall off the bone and there Johnny cakes are the best, can not get enough of these. We will be back next year

Johnny B's is a great place to get barbeque . . . ribs, chicken, goat, conch and the most amazing langostino (lobster). It's definitely a shorts and tee shirt place and has apparently moved its location from where it was in years past but it nearby to that place. You'll be mixing with native St. Maarten people and the staff... More

I don't know what happened to Rick, but we've been eating at Johnny's for years, and have never had a bad meal. This trip, we ate there twice. My wife had the chicken twice; I had the Conch stew first time, and the chicken and ribs the second. We don't go there for the prices, although they are very reasonable.... More

after being to the island a few times we were determined to visit some of the small locally owned places to see if they were as good as people keep saying they are. we were told the original johnny b's under the tree was now in simpson bay right by the bridge. and we did find the location in the...
