Restaurant closed. No indication posted of this. Went into bar side of building and had to ask. This was about 6:30 pm. Locals drinking, very loud music, dark. Not very inviting when we were hoping to get a sunset dinner.

Cayman Brac is a wonderful change from Grand Cayman. The pace is slower, the people are more laid back. And La Esperanza is a perfect place to have a cold beer or 2 and to meet some of the locals. Right on the water. A pleasant bar, good atmosphere, good music. Really enjoyed it and would definitely return.

We biked over for lunch one day and enjoyed a delicious meal. We shared fish and chicken and got huge servings of both. Good solid cooking. And the beers went down well also.

We visited on a Friday night and was definitely the local hang out spot. The drinks were cheap but they dont serve food in the night so eat before you get there.

We ate cod fish and ache. My Father was born in Creek.Which added a special touch. This restaurant was just down the road where he lived. Beautiful scenery.

I hate to speak ill of anywhere, but the service was more of a grunt and point kind of deal with no real communication. The food was way over cooked and spiced beyond being edible. The menu was jerked chicken with bread. Be careful of the split bones

I live on Cayman Brac now (love it) but had visited for years before settling here. La Esperanza (known locally as Bussey's) is about the last place you'd spend your Caribbean vacation. Rooms are sub-standard (even for a small island), food is mediocre typical Caymanian, bottom of the list for dining, Bar on the weekends is ear bleeding loud, filthy... More

Our hotel recommended La Esperanza when we asked about a good place on the northeast side of the island. They might as well have said there was nothing there. This may have been a local Caymanian adventure, but it was a poor meal, and trying to navigate the weirdness of it was slightly traumatic. We were glad to leave and... More

Somewhere along the way La Esperanza has taken a turn for the worse. Stopped by for some jerk chicken, which was not what it used to be, and decided to eat it at their sea-side bar and have a couple of drinks. There were few people joining my husband and myself, but they were all very drunk and very obnoxious... More

We were told this was the place to go for the best jerk chicken on the island on a Friday and Saturday night. Went along on Saturday, but nothing happening - not a jerk chicken in sight! Presume these things only happen in high season, shame when the choice for eating out is limited on the island at any time.
