I visited with a friend as we did not feel like cooking The wine selection was poor, getting the price down to £12 a bottle seemed more important than delivering quality The food was average, and rushed, (the mains arrived whilst we still getting through the starters), even then the food was warm rather than hot. It's a shame that... More

Too lazy to cook so we thought we'd give it a try and so glad we did. I opted for the 'best' roast which has lamb, belly pork and beef along with 2 huge yorkshires, roasters and a good selection of veg. Service was friendly and efficient in good old traditional pub. Food was gorgeous, desserts looked good but we... More

I visited the TA for my husbands birthday yesterday and had a fantastic meal. My in laws had also booked, without us knowing, and at short notice I called up and they managed to put our tables together without any fuss! My husband and I both had Sunday Best which consisted of beef, lamb, pork belly, 4 roast potatoes, 2... More

We had arranged a weekend away to visit my sister and she suggested we visit her local for an evening meal. The pub was small but very cosy with a nice wood burning stove an a nice selection of real ales The menu was limited but they had a special menu which we chose from.We decided on the chateaubriand for... If your lost for some thing to do on a Sunday and want a break from hot sticky kitchens then this is the place to go for a Sunday treat. This was my first time here on a Sunday so never knew what to expect. On arrival we were greeted in a lovely manner and escorted to our pre booked... More

This is still a good place for Sunday lunch. My wife had the warm pear salad which was excellent. We both went for the leg of lamb for mains for which a small premium is added. The lamb was just a couple of thin slices which was disappointing and the small dish of veg to share was minimal. It all tasted V.nice but we... We visit the Tredegar Arms regularly but recently have found it's gone down hill a bit. On our most recent visit we found they have changed their menu. As a vegetarian, with an already limited choice, I was shocked and bemused to see the fishcakes listed as a vegetarian option on the menu! I approached the management about this on... More

The Tredegar Arms looks so attractive, particularly as its in a lovely village setting and is now decorated for Christmas and we were really looking forward to eating there. My husband had the ale pie and he said it wasn't very nice, the crust was dark brown and hard with not much beef inside, plus it wasn't very warm. I... More

This is a nice tidy village pub with an emphasis on food. Everything gives the impression of being well looked after - nice solid furniture and everything clean and fresh. It's an old building with a bit of character. Small choice of draft beers, including Timothy Taylor's Landlord which alone is worth a diversion (it's Britain's best beer!). Food with... More
