What a lovely hidden gem and a suprise to find such a lovely quirky place in the centre of Neath. Friendly staff and a lovely selection of cakes.. you'll want to try them all. Definitely worth a visit, a lovely warm cosy feel.
We stumbled across this place on our way to South Wales. Our Harry Potter obsessed children absolutely loved it and the attention to detail is amazing. The food is exceptional; beautiful Italian tomato soup and delicious cakes. Highly recommended.
We were passing through Neath and liked the look of this place, so popped in for cake and coffee. We had no idea it was going to be Harry Potter themed. What a great idea!
The inside was pretty busy for a Tuesday I thought,...so we opted to sit in the garden at the back. Very quirky, including the staff, who were abrupt and unfriendly, but very efficient. Our order came quickly and everything was decent quality, though unexceptional.
As cafes go, I'd say this is pretty average in terms of what's on offer, but above average in terms of its decor, efficiency of service, and cleanliness. Worth a visit for sure.More
Our first visit since reopening.....so well organized. Despite it being a Saturday it was fairly quiet in there but we put that down to the weather..my cappuccino was excellent and the cheese and mushrooms l croissant was really tasty.... everyone else else enjoyed their food...too.. we're all ready arranging our next visit.More
Very friendly service, and we were made to feel very welcome. My partner and I both had paninis, they came out very quickly and tasted amazing. The cakes were also excellent - will definitely be back if we are in Neath again.
I wasn’t going to write a review at first because I’m not the type of person who enjoys upsetting people. However, my recent visit to cafe 46 has left me baffled. My husband and I decided to get lunch there for my 56th birthday, due...to their lovely vintage decor. But I’m afraid it’s the only thing going for this place. The attitude from not only the staff but the manager is unacceptable! They were extremely rude to my husband and I when we asked to not be seated at the low tables due to my husbands back problems. There were many empty tables, so I’m still confused as to why they wouldn’t let us move. I’m very disappointed by this experience. Many other things happened in that restaurant that are too long to explain. But just know this, I will never go there again, or recommend you to go there. The manager is one of the rudest people I have ever met. Get new manager and staff!More
The owners attitude absolutely stinks and I’m not the first to have noticed. I’ve had many of my friends telling me about bad experiences they’ve had at 46 and how the owners attitude never seems to be pleasant. You’d expect high standards from the high...prices, unfortunately that’s not the case. Such a shame as has so much potential to be a lovely cafe, the owner and some staff put it down. GET NEW OWNER! Or try and learn some human decency and actually SMLE and be KIND.More
We love this place... there's plenty of choice of hot drinks.... lovely cakes and sweet treats.... We recommend the tea and cafe latte...today for a change from my normal teacake I had a cheese and mushroom croissant, it was superb...the staff are great, the décor...is fascinating and quirky...More
Staff are so rude, especially the owner, very disappointing. The owner made me feel very uncomfortable, she is very rude, I know many others who have had very unpleasant experiences there due to the staffs attitudes (mainly the owners, but staff also) considering the high...prices you’d expect high quality service, or at least a level of common decency. So disappointing, such a lovely cafe as well, get new staff (including owner).More
