We come to The George Wraysbury fairly regularly and are always absolutely delighted with the food and the service. Something a little bit different tonight, my friend and I tried the Tapas plates and they are ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. The perfect plate for an informal evening,...chatting with a glass of wine and some really, really delicious small bites. We had the meat selection, it was truly amazing, we ate as much as we could and the team then brought a box for us to take some bits home, how fantastic. This is the exactly what a group of friends would love for chatting, having a glass of wine and some delicious savoury bits. As I write this my husband is chomping his way through the bits I brought home and asking when we can go to enjoy the experience again. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED.More

We have visited the George a few times before, and have always been treated well. On this occasion we spotted a large Tipi tent over the neighbouring wall so ever the curious we asked a member of staff who politely explained it was part of...the pub and it was available for private hire. As was the secret Hall where Boxer Henry Cooper used to box in which was an amazing surprise. Being very spontaneous people, my wife and I decided to take advantage of the incredibly secluded back garden that also has a warm and inviting Tipi and fire pit and organise a last minute Halloween Party for Saturday 30th November which was just a few weeks away. We enquired and we were asked to secure with a very reasonable £125. The whole process from discussing our requirements with Monique to handling the goods with Paddie in the Tipi tent, also Chris running around ensuring we had all we needed and all 3 of them looking after our guests all night meant we could concentrate on the event and have lots of fun. We were literally allowed to take over the back section of the pub, we had lots of Halloween themed items, many animatronic so making lots of scary noises. We also had professional singers so they allowed us to bring in our sound equipment, smoke machines, Neon signs, vintage carousel horse, nothing was too much trouble. The George also kindly allowed us to use the former Boxing Hall for our Tarot reader who we booked for a few hours. Big thanks to our Tarot Reader Kyra Marie who all of our guests rated highly. Another local treat was the amazing cake that we had from local cake maker wendys_cakebooth (instagram), do yourself a favour and get in touch with these people as they were a huge professional plus to our special night. As for the staff at the George: Monique was a diamond from start to finish and Paddie and Chris were a delight the whole evening. It simply wouldn't have been as good as it was without these guys. The owner also checked on us to make sure we were happy which is always a good thing. The final happy point to this review was that when i came back the next day to collect the items the young lad (apologies I don't know his name) had collected every thing up for us and carefully placed them in the barn. What a treat! Thanks guys.More

Morne and his exceptional team have been looking after us so well that each time we visit, I am already planning our next evening there! We moved locally this October but have been visiting this fine establishment since August the year before, simply because we...love it so much. The food is so delicious and the welcome is always genuine and warm. We couldn’t ask for any more than that.More

We had no complaints , food was fine, staff were lovely and plenty of parking spaces. Well there were until the mothers collecting their offspring from school next door arrived, carnage .Most unable to reverse !!

I booked this beautiful little pub for my 50th birthday, we had 14 of us eating and drinking throughout the evening and all the food was just perfect, the portions were very generous, the staff couldn’t be more helpful and we all had a great...evening. If you like home cooked food and a quaint setting I can highly recommend this hidden gem, thank you we will be back!More

There were three of us for lunch. It wasn't too busy. The service was really quick and efficient. My meal was delicious. My husband said his burger was probable one of the best he'd eaten - which is high praise indeed! My daughter opted for...a vegetarian dish which she really enjoyed All in all it was a really nice afternoon lunch. I will definitely return if I am in the area.More

So this place was always one of our favourites. But clearly this isn’t the case anymore. We booked a table for 6pm. We arrived in plenty of time only to be told the kitchen closes at 5:30 and we need to order straight away. The...managers showed no apology at all, the staff behind the bar were a lot more apologetic to be fair. What has happened to this place, change of management? Safe to safe we won’t be going back unfortunatelyMore

Really impressed by the staff and menu. Food was amazing and really good gluten-free options (almost everything on the menu). Fish and chips were sooooo good and the ribs so tender. Would highly recommend the food and friendliness of the staff made it very enjoyable....Chocolate brownie dessert was delicious. Looking forward to my next visit!More

I took my Nan here with me for lunch last week and the service was really not that great, the waitress clearly did not want to be there and neither did the guy behind the bar, the service was just poor and for what I...was paying it really was not worth it.More

Yes Just phone ahead and tell then you need gluten free and ask what they have on the menu for the evening. They are normally very accommodating with allergy requests.
