We went to the George last Monday night to celebrate my wife's birthday Overall I would say the experience was ok.....good ish but certainly not great This is a shame as the George at spaldwick had been recommended to us. I would say it was fine but I am not sure I would recommend above some of the other places... More

Freaindly pub just off the A14. Stopped on the way home from work on Friday for a drink. Decided to have the home made chilli, wow, this is not for the faint hearted. Loved it, the best chilli that I have had out.

This really is an excellent stop off for anyone travelling on the A14 or the nearby A1 in Cambridgeshire. Lovely old pub with various rooms less than mile from A14. Excellent beer and a large choice of lunchtime meals. The large sandwiches with chips and bit of lettuce are very filling and are really good value.

Not sure how a restaurant can book too many people into their restaurant than they have staff for. People phone up a book a table for a number of people. The restaurant then knows how many people are arriving on a given date and time. Therefore they know how many staff to employ to service this number of people. The... More

My daughter and I popped in for lunch here on return leg of collecting her from uni. Had researched pubs off the a14 and this was highly rated...I can see why. Located in a beautiful village in a fascinating historical building. Tastefully furnished with friendly welcome. Lunchtime menu reasonably priced and food delicious although portions were so large we had... More

Each year we find a pub roughly half way and just off the A14, between East Anglia where we live, and Birmingham, where my wife's family live, to exchange Christmas gifts. On a recommendation we met for lunch at this historic and interesting pub.We chatted in the comfortable bar and then moved into the restaurant where a large local company... More

Sunday roast out - not one to brag about my own cooking, but I am nearly always disappointed when I eat out on a Sunday, as I reckon I do a much better job myself, not today however! Not without its faults, it took four hours to serve us 3 courses and I had to query the bill, but yesterday... More

Two of us visited for sunday lunch. Place was very busy and after ordering we did have to wait a while for our sunday roast. However it was well worth the wait and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the red cabbage was a nice change and very nice too. Good value for the money.

We visited today, a group of eleven and enjoyed a delicious lunch. No one had any negative words to say about anything on our visit. All the main courses were very generous and superb. Ten of us managed desserts and these again were delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable event and we will certainly revisit.
