The food was delicious - obviously home cooked and not a microwaved ready meal, plus it was generous portions. Pleasantly surprised by size of portions of everything including desserts. The price of food was reasonable (drinks were expensive - only negative) and the landlord/owner was extremely pleasant. We will return! Lovely little spot in the sun - dog friendly too.

A range of food available on the menu. Meals were presented nicely. Portions were ample particularly the fish and chips. Curry looked lovely and ploughmans meal was very good value - fresh bread, plenty of cheese and chutney with a good portion of salad. Food was nice tasting and served in a pleasant surrounding.

We went to this restaurant on a dull and rainy day which did not help the rather dark décor. However things improved from initial impressions. I ordered the lamb madras curry and my partner had ham, egg and chips with salad. Both meals were excellent, delicious and of generous proportions. We will happily eat here again

Friends had recommended this pub to us. Lovely food, very generous portions. Management and staff very friendly and polite. Our family enjoyed the evening and look forward to returning.

We went out for a few drinks at The Jolly Sailor & had a great time listening to live music with a lovely supper. The Peroni went down well with the Chilli & Garlic Prawn starter followed by The Jolly Sailor "Special Fish & chips". The food was excellent & would say that we had a nice relaxed evening out.... Crap service, dirty glasses, rude staff just awful. Do not visit this pub if you enjoy the taste of your food.

Angelo. Are you serious about what you wrote here? I do not agree with your statement. All my staff are very hard working. We are here because of our customers. Why will we be rude? I will report this back to TripAdvisor. Many Thanks, Prasad More

Brilliant food, massive portions. And really good quality food as well. I myself had fish and chips and it was delicious chips are also really nice in here. My dad had the special which was gammon egg and chips and I wish I'd seen it because I love gammon more than fish, and it looked and tasted amazing. My cousin... More

Very friendly and had a good curry and pint there. Lovely location. Needs a bit of help and love to bring it on but could be great if given the love and patronage it deserves. Coffee and cake for cyclists? Curry taster menu for sharing? Better signage from cycle path and a big welcome at the car park plus bike... More

Re visited the pub recently for a bite to eat and to take in the picturesque views this establishment provides, what I found was a dirty poorly run bar, staff didn't know what the pie or curry of the day was, food was Luke warm at best, overpriced and underwhelmed, avoid at all costs.

Hello Not_So_Obvious_Who_Ever_You_Are. I usually thank everyone who write about this pub, whether positive or negative as every review helps us move forward and shows us what our valuable customers think about this place. However, after reading what you wrote and the sarcastic heading you used, I will not. Is it a joke you are playing here? Yes, I want you... More
