I recently organised a work do for 19 at the Boat. All the Staff were very helpful. I was a bit hi maintenance about how the tables were arranged, Sam were so patient and when we arrived the table set up was brilliant. Two people had allergies and tasty meals were provided for them with no fuss. Everyone enjoyed their... More

Excellent location, food did not take too long to be served considering it was a Friday night and the restaurant was reasonably busy. It is definitely a must go in the summer to see the canal

Went for partners birthday. Unfortunately Rib eye steaks overdone but just about edible. Didnt seem that busy but decided not to order desserts as we had to wait such a long time for plates to be taken away and only then after we asked! Wouldn't recommend.

We had a lovely lunch here today, for Mother's Day. Understandibly, very busy due to the day. All food served was of a good standard & served efficiently, by lovely warm, welcoming staff. Also the staff were very accommodating, when we had to add another guest at short notice. Beautiful setting next to the canal, too.

Took my mum out for what should've been a lovely meal for her birthday however.........I refused to pay for 2 of our 4 meals as they were awful and clearly not cooked properly! I wouldn't have paid for the other 2 but they were just about edible!! The service was poor and overall cleanliness was questionable! Meals weren't all brought... More

Sadly under new ownership The Boat Inn is no longer a place I would recommend anyone to go to for a decent meal. The service was poor, the barman doubled up as a waiter and there was a dog wandering round our feet whilst we were eating. The food when it came was frankly disappointing to look at and two... Good choose of meat and fresh veg which was kept topped up. Lovely friendly staff Claire looked after us checking all was well with our meal. Good Atmosphere charming canal... More

Popped in for a look as we past on our Sunday walk and the smell of the carvery pulled us in for lunch. The selection of food was very impressive and the meat was cooked to perfection. Would strongly advise to book as it was getting very busy. I asked to look at the weekday menu out of curiosity and... More
