Walking along and saw this busy place. Went in and very authentic with great choice fresh fish cooked on BBQ. Had grilled prawns and chicken rice in pineapple. So fresh and yummy. You must try it!

We had half a kilo of bbq prawns followed by 1 red snapper bbq with thai sauce and 1 white whole snapper bbq in salt. The owner takes great pride in his food and the fish was cooked to perfection. At only 200 bht per fish this was amazing value. Everything was tasty, well prepared and we would definitely recommend... More

We ate several times at Aree BaBa which was within walking distance of our accommodation. Although some of the staff spoke only a little English if unable to understand called on other staff to clarify. They have a variety of western and Thai food. The fish is fresh, caught that day. We particularly like the BBQ fish with salt. I... More

We were staying about 10 mins from this restaurant and discovered it by chance walking by. The food is absolutely delicious and cheap. The staff are all lovely and one of the waiters is hilarious. The massaman curry was amazing as were the spring rolls. Loved it so much we went back a couple of times. Definitely worth a visit.

If your looking for real Thai food at a decent price this restaurant is your best option and definitely worth the walk up from the beach area. As you might have noticed the beach walk isn't exactly packed with great restaurants. Aree baba is a true Thai place, all Thai staff, not great at English, food doesn't arrive simultaneously but... We stopped by here as it looked authentic Thai and was not disappointed. This restaurant is not as prominent as some of the others we went to but has a good atmosphere and the staff are very helpful. The food is good and there is a good selection. The staff are very friendly and helpful, this seems more of a... More

Ao Nang has changed significantly in the last couple of years and sadly it has become expensive and lost some of its authenticity, but the place reflects it current clientele. We saw that this place was quite busy and a mixture of different internationals as guest. The menu is comprehensive and the price for Ao Nang reasonable. Have no doubts... More

We stayed near Ao nang for 3 days and for all our meals we visited Aree Baba. A restaurant which is run by a family(i guess) and was able to serve on time. Items in the menu were very good for vegetarians as well as for the non vegetarians. We loved there fried rice and the chicken items. You could... More

We had three dishes here which were on either side of the line between banal and disgusting. Service was extremely bad (slow, wrong items, items ordered never came), even by local standards. Seems bustling but that was a red herring. Also, first GI distress of our 3 week trip. Do yourself a favor and just make a reservation with one... More

Place is alright, service was nearly not available in the beginning but then they bring the food quickly and it tasted very good (green curry). Have been to 4 places within the last 3 days and it was the best, with the most of food.
