Outstanding Seafood and charming owners

This restaurant has been there a long time and I have visited regularly over the years. The twin sisters that own this restaurant are "very little people" and are completely charming even though they run their business with an iron will. Their standing with the local fishermen ensures some of the best and freshest seafood you will find. Try the fresh White Snapper baked with salt, and you will not be disappointed.

I have eaten at so many fish

I have eaten at so many fish restaurants in SE Asia over the past 40 years and this is one of the best. I only wish I could go down through the whole of their menu. The whole snapper and blue crab were so delicious. The prices were great and the simple wine list was just right.

Delicious seafood

This is a wonderful restaurant. fresh seafood. Tom yum is very tasty and rich, not diluted, as is often the case. spices in it in moderation. delicious . shells and mussels are very tender and tasty. I liked it very much . The only negative for me: no air conditioning. But this is for me.

Worth the visit!

The food was excellent and the people were lovely. The Owners have run the restaurant for over 30 years and you can see why. Truly worth the visit.

Overpriced and Underwhelming

I'll start by saying I look for the best in places not the worst. I've had great food in the very best Michelin starred restaurants and also in the cheapest food stalls. We had black crab, oysters, razor clams, a Mantis Prawn and Tempura Prawns... Tempura Prawns - coated in thick heavy doughy batter. Appeared ready made and definitely not mad with fresh Tempura batter. Oysters - big tasteless rubbery things...the strangest oysters I've ever had. Crab - ok but not special, especially at 1100 baht which is three times the price of everywhere else and everywhere else has been better. Razor clams - actually quite good. Mantis Prawn - At 900 baht for one I expected something special in taste and presentation. Below pic shows what I was served. It had been coated in a sickly sweet dressing and deep fried. The result was one mouthful at best of overcooked shrimp. Worst meal in Thailand and 5 x more expensive to add insult to injury.

Best seafood meal we have ever eaten

This was hands down the best seafood we have ever had. Great local produce great very attentive staff this would be our favourite meal in Thailand by far over 10 days. We will definitely return.

Great local foods and fresh seafoods. Service is also excellent. The tiny twin is lovely and she cooked herself a great papaya salad, you should come and try...say hello to lovely twin!

expensive not tasty at all

We stayed at centara krabi resort and this is the nearest restaurant in nopparat thara pier. We don’t want to go all the way to ao nang so we went to this restaurant by speed boat that the hotel provide. We ordered 5 dishes and 2 drinks. The bill was 1320b . Very expensive! You can get a decent seafood buffet in aonang for 500b each. So if u are staying at centara resort i will suggest go to aonang or just eat at the restaurants in the hotel.

Read many positive reviews of this restaurant- simole ,unpretentious and fresh delicious seafood - a must try ! We went on a Sunday evening and reaily agreed that it was simple and unpretentious where knowledable locals patronise however i could not find fresh delicious seafood thar evening . We ordered steam Fish with lime sauce but the fish tasted too soft ,dry and tasteless . Worse still there was only spoonful of gravy/sauce which to me very precious ! The Thai Seafood Salad was equally disappointing . Service was passable but surely not impressive and ambience almost non -existance.

Perfect fresh seafood and complimentary taxi service

My wife and I ate here on our last night in Krabi and it was superb. Casual and understated but still charming, with very friendly service and they even employ a driver to bring guests and take them back to their hotel. The food was top quality - papaya salad, shrimp tempura, grilled scallops, fried grouper in curry, with morning glory and rice. Everything was delicious and super fresh. Highly recommended and worth the short trip from Ao Nang to Nopparat Thara. If you are staying at Centara, this is right by the boat pier to the hotel and is a must!
