The Old Crown is a great pub, good food and beer along with a family friendly atmosphere and very large outdoor garden area, ideal for when the summer is with us.

We are fairly local and have been enjoying visits to The Old Crown for the past few years since Andy took charge. The food had always been outstanding! Always well presented and menus well thought out. We had a Christmas meal there that was amazing! They have a pizza oven and, until Christmas, did the best pizzas I have had... More

Living in the next village, we decided to walk to The Crown and see what it was like. (We've recently moved to the area.) Having enjoyed a brisk walk, we went into the Crown and were pleased to see that it was busy- always a good sign. They managed to squeeze us in and the Lamb and Mushroom & Chestnut... More

We drop in to the Old Crown for a drink quite regularly, but as we have builders blowing dust around our kitchen at present we've had a couple of meals here too recently. The service is sometimes a little slow when busy, but the team are lovely and the food is always spot on. Great home made soups, quality ingredients... More

Yesterday I ordered a steak at The Royal Oak Walgrave. The steak was too tough to eat. The waiter apologised, the chef confirmed that it was too tough to eat and the owner also apologised and I wasn't charged for the steak. Compare that to the reaction we got at the Old Crown when we complained that the steak was... More

Having recently moved to the area we stumbled across this lovely village pub. Staff are all friendly and welcoming especially the girls behind the bar. We have eaten here often and have tried most things on the menu from Ciabatta at lunch through to Sunday roast and the food is always of a high standard - compliments to Andy and... More

We came here for lunch on a Saturday and staff were polite and helpful. We even called to book in advance and were told that it might be best to come slightly earlier as a large party were coming in (so we could get our order in early to avoid waiting). As it happens, the pub was quite quiet when... More
