Great location with view. New management tries hard and is successful. Strong wait staff; really good margaritas and food has a style and appeal, Chips and salsa has an edge; salads are large with house made dressings and shrimp and fish dishes first rate. If they stay the couse a great addition to malecon dining.

The restaurant has a lovely view if the bay, up a few stairs so you can see over the passing cars. I stopped in for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service (The waiter spoke excellent English and went above and beyond in making sure the meal was to my liking) and delicious, well presented food.

There was delicious food from wall to wall and on the sides too. Authentic and delicious. The staff was so very friendly and patient while you made your selections. The restaurant was very clean & beautifully decorated. There was an area for banquets & weddings.

The food was excellent, although we arrived too early for the buffet, which we were told was outstanding. We ordered from the menu and received very good local cuisine. The ambience was incredible. We were there not long after El Dia de los Muertos, and much of the decoration were still there. Our waiter was also kind enough to show... More

We stopped here to eat because it was broadcasting the Superbowl and was on the malecon to see the Carnival parade. We had no idea that the food would be excellent, and the staff very friendly and helpful, even though they were very busy.

We stumbled onto El Zarape after not being able to find a different place that was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying and this turned out to be a great find! We came here our first night in La Paz, and it seemed they were planning to close early due to it being new years day, but... More

El Zarape is one of our favorite La Paz restaurants for one reason; Mexican buffet! There’s very little English spoken at El Zarape and, since my Spanish is not quite to the conversational level, I appreciate that there is usually one English-speaking waiter to explain what’s what. This is an opportunity to go beyond the usual Mexican menu and taste... More

Now open on el malecon. Had grilled tuna and chicken mole. Fish was excellent and the chicken unbelievably tender. Staff attentive. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

From the moment we arrived, we received top notch service from everyone there. We specifically went there for the buffet. The had typical Mexican breakfast fare plus the fruit, yogurt, cereal area. My GF loved everything, I was bit more selective. The food was good but not the best I've had. I guess I was comparing it to others I... More
