I do believe this is an old school restaurant. The service is not great and the decor is beyond basic. Nevertheless, the food is amazing and it is offered at a great price at a reasonably late timing. Do not forget to take cash with...you or you’ll get stuck washing plates.More

The same old traditional restaurant... nothing fancy but comfortable... big tables and big wood fences to sit on... if you want, you can ask them to set up an “hamaca” for you. The one and only MUST: Pescado a la Talla. Red snapper with chili...sauce roasted on charcoal. Amazing! Everything was good! Excellent service. Not cheap, but you get quality in return. $390.00 pesos for 1 kg of fish... I think it’s okay!More

I’m a huge fan of good food. I certainly enjoy good restaurants, no matter if they are cheap or expensive; the reason for this is because I have found the best food at local or inexpensive restaurants rather than in really expensive, trendy or fashion...ones. Beto Godoy is a very traditional place to eat when in Acapulco, specifically in Barra Vieja. “Pescado a la talla” or al “mojo de ajo” is exquisite, you pay it by the kilogram. I have been here I have enjoyed tremendously the environment and the food. Nonetheless, this visit I had I found it a bit more pricey! Although I enjoyed the delicious fish, I will recommend to clean up the pool, to have more hammocks so people can enjoy more their stay. I will definitely continue coming here because the view of the river and the lake is very pretty alsoMore

Took friends who were visiting. You can pick out your own fish. They will even do 1/2 fish. You pay by the kilo. Took a boat trip into the lagoon. Okay--nothing special.

I did not give a 5 stars because of hygiene. I understand flys are everywhere and especially outside but, at least, keep the house where the you select the fish cleaner. Besides that the fish is the best I have ever had, even an expensive...restaurant of New York falls short.More

I visit Beto Godoy every now and then when in Acapulco, basically for the traditional environment. The food is acceptable, although I think is somewhat pricey for what it is. I went a couple of days ago with my one year old (her first time)...and she did not have a good time. The heat, the poor hygiene and the mosquitoes are something I will not put up with again. If you are okay with those things then you might enjoy the food.More

This restaurant is probably the best experience you have in Acapulco for local food and one of the main dishes in Mexico, which is "pescado a la talla". I recommend go early to barra vieja, and spend the day at the beach and when you...feel hungry go to eat here. The service was excellent and not expensive for the quality of the food you´ll eat.More

My husband and I eat there often but the last time we went we decided to stop visiting because it has a lot more negative than positives. The food is too expensive for what they offer. If they expect to charge as they do they...better offer a better pool, a cleaner place and a better service. They are well staffed but the staff is TOOOOOO slow and they act as if they are doing you a favor. We are on the look out for a new place to eat a barra vieja, this one got too greedy and not as great anymore.More

A 15 minute drive south of the Acapulco suburbs of Diamante lies this hidden gem that is easy to miss. Nestled against the beach and a lagoon, this seafood restaurant catches, prepares and serves some of the tastiest fish you will ever eat. You are...even able to stop by their kitchen and view the open fire pit style grills as they slow cook the fish before they serve them up to in their covered outdoor cafeteria-style dining ‘room.’ Think of the experience as being able to make your own fish tacos in a truly Mexican environment. Be sure to enjoy the sopes as well!More

We went to Beto Godoy through a reknowned local friend's recommendation. Unfortunately what we encountered was the complete opposite to what he told us on good faith. Please let me note that I'm a Mexican national, a fairly seasoned traveller and camper used to beachside...dining at shacks along both Mexican coasts and am not really that nitpicky. But let's begin by saying the food was just OK (nothing spectacular except for the ceviche which was the worst I've ever had) and overpriced, the staff appeared uninterested and the service sluggish and poor even by beachside standards. The overall experience was greatly undermined by the apparent poor hygiene at the premises and the never-ending mosquito swarms. Although the restaurant was near empty, it took ages for the waiter to fulfill our order or even bring us the check. I would NOT recommend this restaurant.More

We went here thanks to the recommendations of the Hotel's staff and it worth the 25Km to Barra Vieja Town. This restaurant really is local and you can taste the locally famous and exquisite La Talla fish of Acapulco. Sit on one of the many...many tables on the restaurant placed in the sand and get ready to taste a really good grilled fish. You can order half of the fish with a different sauce and you can even choose the fresh fish you will like to eat. Waiters will recommend you how many people can eat from one fish based on the weight. Tip: It will take you around 30 minutes from Diamante Hotel Zone to get to this place. Roads are clean and recently renewed. You should go in the day as you will be able to appreciate the restaraunt surroundings and the road does not have many lights during the night.More

I have gone here many times since the 90`s and the food has maintained its quality, how ever the prices have changed a lot. Now a day the place can get quiet croweded as it`s one of the best known restaurants in barra vieja. The..."huachinango a la talla" is the specialty and it quiet tasty. If you bring kids they can fish by the lagoon`s shore for a small tip, theres no tide and you can either cook or realease what you catch. Do expect to pay a premium for the ·"brand" of Beto Godoy, how ever you will not be dissapointed with the food.More
