Carmenere is a short walk from the Grand Acapulco Hotel, located is a small strip mall. Although there is no view or ambiance, the food is outstanding. For about $75 USD for two we had a wonderful lunch with appetizer, main meal, wine, desert and coffee. Best meal in Acapulco.

Mushroom soup was amazing, Rib Eye perfectly cooked (crispy seared with authentic grill marks on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside). Don't miss the abulone carpaccio, a true delicacy. They went above and beyond by preparing "Chimichurri" sauce on the go even when it wasn't on the menu.

We split a salad - I had duck he had lamb. Much better than our last visit in terms of service (last time we were outside). Food was phenomenal. We live in Toronto and eat out a lot. With a glass of wine and coffee bill was under 1000 pesos. Make a reservation. Dress to adapt. This visit A/C was... More

We have gone to carmenere every year for the past 6 or so years. The prices are reasonable for a higher end restaurant in Acapulco. Has a diverse menu, something for everyone. Wine selection and prices are good. The food is always tasty. It does get loud if the restaurant is full.

Carmenere is one of my 2 favourite restaurants in Acapulco. The prime rib (roastbeef) melts in your mouth.... the escargots are so good....the calamari's are very tender and delicious... the smoked salmon dish is to die for..... and so on..... and what about the "hot" chocolate dessert with vanilla icecream.... Mium Mium Mium ...

I know this is a popular restaurant. But I really did not have an experience that would distinguish it from the many excellent options Acapulco has. The service was polite, but we felt rushed, on a night when the restaurant was not full. From drinks to dessert, they turned our table in just over an hour. It wasn't relaxing. The... More

They did not have our reservation but did give us a nice table. Service was just ok this time. We got what we ordered and the food is good, although I think the menu has changed somewhat from our last visit, but at no time did the waiter return to ask how our meal was. We were the only Americans... More
