Moved to Vallarta May 2 not knowing anyone. Decided to check this bar out in my new hood yesterday and it was my b day to boot. I dove into a bucket of good times and new friends. No music that nite but we didn't need it. This will be one of my go to spots and I haven't tried... More

The Captain Don's magic was created a while back on Calle Honduras. Always a pleasant area of Puerto Vallarta, Captain Don's has become a haven in which to enjoy any afternoon or evening knowing that the food and beverage service is tops - along with quality and taste - befitting of the best PV offers. And there is music too!... More

Normally after being in town for dinner, we walk a couple miles back to our resort, and along the way, we many times stop at Captain Dons. If you like old bars with great people and Live Rock N Roll, then this is the place to go. Usually we have one beer (30 pesos) and dance a little and then... More

I would classify this as a "dive" bar - smoky and kind of tacky. Seems to be a gringo handout. Didn't enjoy it much.

The bar itself looks a bit rundown- it's not fancy by any means but it's always busy which is a great sign. The service was very speedy and friendly. Our table all had chicken wings and they were SO GOOD. Many flavor to chose from and they came to our table piping hot. They do have live entertainment as well.... More

Looking for a hockey game we found this hole in the wall with an outdoor toilet, Styrofoam ceilings that threatened to fall at any moment and it's one saving grace, cheap beer. They have live entertainment which was awesome during our visits. However, they close every window and doorway with more Styrofoam to block noise for the neighbours. Not only... More

Atmosphere was lovely and accomodating, service was really efficient and friendly. They do put the great sliding patio doors down during the music, I guess so they don't disrupt the neighbours

Our first time here. We came on other positive reviews we had read. The patrons appeared to be regulars here and some shared a large table. Good sign. We had excellent service from the bar and kitchen. We had two forms of entertainment. The first was what started as a pool game between two people who appeared to know each... More

We stumbled onto this expat bar one night, hearing great live music from down the street. Cheap beer, amazingly great live music and fun atmosphere - has to be experienced!
