Went with a group of friends for breakfast. The owner and her family were fabulous and the food authentic Mexican fare. Highly recommend it.

The location of Carmelitas is really lovely. It's a nice little hide-away spot with trees all around, and a nice pergola. I'm not sure if there is an indoor space, because we walked up, and were seated on the patio. It was brilliant. This is a really busy spot and appears the locals want to eat here too. The service... We accidentally ran into Carmilitas while looking for a different restaurant. Thankfully I'd read the reviews on Trip Advisor earlier so we went in for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming! Victor patiently explained so much on the menu and was wonderful to talk with. I ordered the enchilada verde (chicken breast with delicious sauce, covered in salad).... More

Absolutely wonderful I had eggs and my wife had chili relleno. But best of all was the service. A really caring staff. Obviously, the family owned and run business really cares about it all.

My husband and i love Carmelita's and so do our friends. They have the best Enchiladas with green sauce and delicious chiles rellenos. Plenty of other options too. Great for breakfast and lunch. Have not tried dinner yet.

We were here for lunch and then came back two days later for lunch again. The best customer service, family owned and fresh, flavorful food. The best guacamole I had in all of Zihua, amazing pork ribs dish and enchiladas and don't forget the margaritas. A highlight of our vacation!

It is a real nice place to have breakfast, you can order "aporreadillo" and definitely you will enjoy a great Mexican and Guerrerense type of food.

We eat here every time we go to Zihuatanejo, so at least once a year. We always take suggestions from the staff who are mostly Carmelita's family. This year, we had tuna salad with chips (o.m.g.) a shrimp stuffed chili relleno that was the best I've ever eaten, one of the local meat dishes with egg (can't remember the name... More

We had breakfast there twice during our visit to Zihua last month. It was because a local recommending it to us that we found out about it and we were glad we did not miss it. The food was delish - a favorite were the chilaquiles rojos and the cafe de olla. And a really nice touch are the home-made... More

Carmelitas appears to be quite popular both with the locals and the tourists. We stopped here for lunch based on the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. The marinated flank steak, the quesadillas, authentic slow cooked Mexican ribs and homemade guacamole and chips were excellent. We also enjoyed the fresh ground coffee and "fresh water" which is like a... More

We are a family business for over 20 years we were located within the Airport Zihuatanejo, the business was called "Snack Bar - El Mirador"; but in 2008 we decided to leave the anonymity and moved to town with a new "Carmelite Cafe" concept. The mission of Carmen and Don Jesus was always clear, offer our customers the best dining experience in Zihuatanejo. During these years we have been aware of the importance of treating our guests like family. We pride ourselves everyday to trust Cafe Carmelites to treat at home; therefore, we insist that the recipes of Mrs. Carmelita, always keep the flavor of the Mexican family kitchen. We will always have an eye to providing the best quality in each of our dishes; leaving aside, a friendly smile and a humble to serve our customers heart. We cook for you like for our own home, without shortcuts, no frills, with love.
