Tucked away in a local barrio a bit difficult to find. But they have the best tostadas around. The tortillas are large and delicious. They serve different kinds of aguas. Definitely not elegant but fun and cheap.

Worth a visit just to experience the excellent and exuberant service from the staff. The Posole is very tasty, but beware, the portions are pretty big, so go with an appetite!

This place has been in Amatitlán for years. They have real Mexican food in enormous portions. The down side is that you only get to try one dish, unless you share with someone. The most traditional dish are "tostadas", the safe bet is chicken (pollo), and go easy with the green sauce as it can be hot.or be more daring... More

This restaurant is a Cuernavaca legend, they sell huge, plate sized tostadas at very cheap prices. Please bear in mind this is a backstreet, very traditional eatery, nothing elegant or fancy, but just about as authentic as it gets in Cuernavaca. People come from far and wide to sample the fare, but you won't find it in any guide book,... More

Description
Small, legendary eatery in Cuernavaca, *very* local, their especiality is enormous cheap tostadas with traditional (ie unusual) toppings such as pata (trotter) and sesos (brain) but also with less exotic options like mushroom and chicken too.
It's a small place tucked away, run by the same family since 1957, huge portions of food at very reasonable prices. A truly authentic mexican dining experience that would appeal to the backpacker crowd much more than the 5-star hotel hoppers.
