I didn't go to Polanco, instead I made an early visit to its branch in Bolivar 18 in Downtown (Historic Center). It was more than what I expected, with the mix of the old city, great buildings and the decor of the place I could swear I was in some place in Europe, maybe Belgian quarter in Cologne or a... More

Hard to comprehend how this place remains a recommended destination in Mexico. This is a small place in Polanco that is neither inviting nor attractive. This could be forgiven if the bread were superior but none of what we bought at two locations warrants the glossy reviews. It is not darn awful a la Globo and Ideal, but there are... More

I avoid going cause I love their conchas so much. They are amazing and most of their bread is. Although it is a little pricey I keep going for their conchas, both vanilla and chocolate.

If you prefer quality over quantity, get your croissants here. Everything from sourdough bread to lemon tarts was delicious. This is a smaller bakery, but the quality of each item was outstanding.

I can live out of bread, cheese and wine, but bread has to be really good (also cheese and wine, of course), and that is what you get at this bakery. This is a take-away place with nine locations en Mexico City. They even have a small booth at Mercado Roma (which I visited), a recent food project in the... More

By far. Expensive, too. Made in their own ovens, they will cut the bread for you. Nice to buy the bread there, for special ocassions.

This is THE place to get your sweets. I got their macaroons - crunchy shell and creamy filling; simply amazing! - and some dark chocolate bits - smooth and fantastic! This place doesn't have a seating area, but you can enjoy the goodies in a nearby square with a cappuccino from Joselo cafe. Highly recommended combo! Not cheap, but worth... More

I've been known to make this bakery my last stop in DF before returning home to San Miguel de Allende. Stocking up on excellent breads and very fine pastries. The pain aux chocolate and pain aux raisins are excellent but the pastel de nata is superb. This little cream tart's flaky crust and unctuous filling is alone worth the trip.

I'm very picky when it comes to bread, and this bakery passed the test. Their ciabatta bread is the best. Good croissants and chocolate chips cookies. A little pricey.

Da Silva bakes wonderful breads everyday. Their European style selection includes french artisan baguette, brioche, croissants and rye loaves. They also have German, Spanish and Portuguese special loaves, as well as a good selection of pastries. A great morning stop!
