We stopped in to try some of the mezcals .. I was super hesitant because the few I had in the USA I did not like. All that changed very quickly. Eddie did a great job explaining the process of mezcal vs tequila and showing us just how intense of a craft it is. We sampled many different mezcals -... More

I came to this place because the staff from Hostel Home, where I stayed in Mexico City, told me it was one of the best mezcalerias in town, and just a couple blocks from the hostel. There are a plenty of mezcals, my favourite was number 11 or 12, I don't remember well.

If you already like Mezcal, La Clandestina will be your new favorite place. If you are new to Mezcal, this is where you will fall in love with it. It is a small, cozy bar, with a lot of personality. The owner greeted us with a (free) mezcal tasting, so we could identify our favorite type of Mezcal. We had... More

So corny. If you want to hang out with Americans whose only Spanish is "gracias," come here! Plus 1 star for the very charming waitress who served us refreshing cocktails. Negative 258 stars for the cornball behind the bar who put our bill's change directly in the tip jar. From the looks of things, he needed more pesos to keep... More

Of the two cool bars that I visited in Mexico City (this and Hanky Panky), I think I preferred this one. It wasn't very spacious, but the special mezcal was amazing. And the mixed mezcal drink that I had was very refreshing. I think that I'm just a sucker for dark lighting. It was sheer luck that we got a... More

LA CLANDESTINA is a very cozy place where you can mingle with local artists, foreigners and mezcal enthusiasts. It has a great selection of the finest artisanal mezcal. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they even recommend different mezcals for the occasion and explain where they come from. LA CLANDESTINA has a very relaxed atmosphere, you can go for... La Clandestina is a small dive bar specializing in Mezcal. They offer more than 25 types and the people behind the bar are friendly and can give you suggestions for any mood you're in. The music is good and the atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a real mezcal experience in La Condesa-Roma, La Clandestina is the option. Without pretensions, in this authentic place we drank amazing different types of mezcal sorrounded by good ambient and good service.

Excellent selection of strong mezcales. They might not be the best quality but for sure they will get you drunk with that variety. Service are young guys with good attitude. It's not the most beautiful place, but it has good vibe.

This place is super hard to find. Address on trip advisor is correct. Don't listen to google maps. Right next door to cool beer bar. Menu and staff are super informative regarding mezcal. I know next to nothing, they suggested a great one. Atmosphere is great, although a very small spot.
