This is a must if you want to have an authentic old fashion but very tasty breakfast. Lunch is great too.

Okay, to be fair, on the occasions I have eaten here - both times for breakfast - I have been accompanied by a lovely, warm and charming young lady. So perhaps my review is a bit skewed, but what the heck? Here goes... The breakfast here is a real, full-blown meal. I like it because it holds me through until... More

Attention was a little slow, but Food was ok. Horchata water, 3 milk desert and barbecue tacos were good as well, but "mole poblano" was spicy. Since its a turistic spot you should do Food without chile.

Thank you very much for leaving your comments after your visit on TA. We will them take into consideration; perhaps the "mole poblano" was spicier than it should be that day. Best wishes. More

El Cardenal, despite being a chain of restaurants, is a great place to eat. One of the best mexican food restaurants in town, for ages, which has managed to stay away from current fashion of Rock star chefs ramping up in mexico city. You can even walk in without a reservation! It is classy but they understand that they are... More

Probably the best restaurant in Mexico for genuine Mexican food! They are so good that they pack them in for lunch and then close for dinner!

This is a very traditional place with a NUMBER of years of successful performance based on quality of food and service. The environment is quite friendly and relaxed. They have an excellent menu. Breakfast is a must and lunch is great.

Enjoy a traditional Mexican breakfast, begining with a "Concha de vainilla" (daily baked sweet bread with a vanilla cover) followed by their famous "Huarache con carnitas" (Corn dough covered with cheese, a deliciouss green tomato sauce and fried pork meat chunks) or a deliciouss cheese "Quesadilla" (Tortilla filled with cheese)

Amazing service, great Cafe de Olla (traditional Mexican Coffee) and all round fantastic breakfast. I will definitely visit again the time I am in Mexico City! I recommend trying Mole Poblano and Escamoles. These are must try traditional dishes and prepare yourself for flavors you did not know existed. It was weird but great at the same time.

This was our first meal in Mexico City, and, after 4 days of many great meals, the best. My slow-cooked lamb melted on the tongue. My husband's chicken mole was very moist and the mole delightful -- little more sweet than some I've had before. Our friend's seared tuna was a he best any of us had ever tasted. The... More
