First lunch at Mexico City here. Good choice! Had the tacos barbacoa, the pollo mole poblano, and the pulpo adobado. The pulpo was so tender and delicious. The mole on the pollo was as expected: very good! And the tacos were excellent. Will definitely recommend...More

I found the food to be exactly what you would expect, not wonderful, but, not awful somewhere in the middle. Service was prompt and good. Nice decor and easy to find location.

Food was excellent. We came just before closing time, yet got good attention. It was unpleasant to discover that prices (in the English menu) were not aligned with the actual price which caused inconvenience. However, all in all, it was very good experience

Long known for the quality of its food...El Cardenal lives up to its reputation. All ingredients come from the proprietor's own ranch... vegetables, meats, fruits...everything, that is, to the extent possible. Authentic, beautifully prepared and served with grace.

I had been looking for the original recipe of one of the most typical and seasonal dishes in Mexican cuisine: the Chile Nogada. El Cardenal has always been known for typical Mexican cuisine so I decided to try it there. It was a very good...More

Coming to Mexico City and not visiting El Cardenal should be considered a mortal sin. This place has been for decades the epitome of Mexican flavour and tradition. Even though I love the original branch downtown Mexico there are now many other scattered across the...More
