We spent 8 days in Oaxaca with the primary purpose of eating great food. It is very difficult to order the top 10. Casa Oaxaca certainly falls in the top three of the top ten. For atmosphere, the outdoor veranda is very difficult to beat. The service was flawless, and the food was amazing. Appetizers, salad, main course, dessert, drinks... More

This was probably our most favorite restaurant in Oaxaca. The food, the service, the roof terrace were exceptional. We enjoyed our first taste of the chapulines or seasoned fried grasshoppers. They were great and at this time of year they are quite small and not intimidating. The salsa mixed at the table was fun but be careful of what you... More

Great food, including a variety of comida oaxaquena. Always wanted to eat a grasshopper taco? Here is one of the best places to do so in Mexico. While expensive by Mexican standards, the restaurant is downright affordable by American prices. Not suitable for vegans or vegetarians Service is the best thing about the restaurant. Fast, efficient, curteous and they make... More

We visited on recommendation of our tour guide. We booked same afternoon for a table on terrace, which has a lovely view of the San Domingo Church. We were at first given a table away from terrace as it had rained a few minutes before however once it stopped, we asked for a table on terrace and was given one... More

Me and my family were completely blown away; not just with the quality of the food but the teamwork of the staff and attention to detail and knowledge of the ingredients. We were able to meet chef Alejandro Ruiz and was incredible humble, despite is fame. We went back for lunch a few days later to try more items on... More

We ate there TWICE! And, we LOVED it each time. However, Pedro, our first waiter was THE BEST! We were welcomed and treated like ild friends. The food was DELICIOUS and so beautifully served. We loved it that the salsa was made table side and NOT PICANTE! We ate on the terrace the first time (STUNNING!) and inside, because of... More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here on a romantic terrace overlooking the Santo Domingo Church. The food was flavorful, served in large portions. The octopus was particularly good.

Fabulous food, in Oaxaca for 6 nights and went there three times! The amazing poblano stuffed with Ceviche and the fish with the tomato jam and passion fruit were so fabulous that I had them the three times we went! The flavors were intense! My husband thought the shrimp and avocado and the suckling pig with the green mole sauce... More
