Like others have said, there isn't much for ambience but I believe it was certainly made up for in value and quality. It was extremely inexpensive (120 pesos) for shrimp soup, fish enchiladas, dessert and a beer. The restaurant is packed with locals for lunch. The server was responsive and very pleasant.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience this isnt the place. But if you want impeccably fresh seafood at very good prices in a very clean restaurant it's well worth a visit. The Decore is nothing more than a Dino really. Formica floors, clean tables, on a busy street corner. But it had some of the best seafood we've... More

My partner and I often agree to meet at the Zocalo for lunch. This restaurant is close by and handy, and we like shrimp. The service is quick and they serve beer. The place is cafe like, not at all fancy, with plenty of local clients. Often we have the shrimp cocktail and shrimp soup. Both are good standbys. The... More

Ok, first this is not fine dining or fancy in any way. This is for one of those meals when you just need to be away from tourists and the crowded markets nearby. I ordered a shrimp plate and could barely make it through half of my meal. The shrimp were large, fresh and perfectly cooked. The service could not... More

This chain has about 8 branches. We went to the one opposite the Mercado Merced on Morelos. Generous basket of tostados and nice, wholemeal rolls! We shared the tomato based shrimp cocktail followed by a very tasty dish of mixed seafood with melted cheese. Nice home made lemonade to drink. All in all a well priced, tasty meal. With the... Definitely worth visiting this place if you are around the Zócalo to fill up on delicious seafood. The service is wonderful, the waiters and waitresses very attentive and full of smiles. Plates are very generously filled and there is a good choice of different fish too. Definitely a place I'll return to.

Several weeks ago, walking by the very nice La Red in Reforma, but not knowing it was the chain of restaurants, La Red, as no name appeared on the outside of the menu we were given. of oven baked whole fish and filets of fish. There was a buffet-like table with all the fresh fish on ice. What seemed to... More

La Red has become one of our favorite spots in Oaxaca. It's small and unpretentious and extremely popular with Mexican families. It's a chain, so there's not a lot of atmosphere--but for us, it was a nice break from the trendier spots near Santo Domingo. The food is excellent! And the quantity and prices for fresh seafood seem astonishing to... More

This Sea food Restaurant is popular with the locals. Often there is line to get in. If there is one one, go to the front and give the waiter there your name and the number in your party. The line moves fast. I always get the shrimp meals of which there are around 8 varieties at 110 pesos. The service... More

Three stars because it is simple, basic and unpretentious. Five stars for value. It's one of those places with a huge turnover, Formica topped tables - and some rather strange combinations on the plate. However, it is FANTASTIC value for money. Do give it a try.
