The staff was very friendly, but we expected more from the cenote. It was a small cenote in a cave. It was nice for about 10 minutes.

I travelled to San Ignatio in May with three other girls from the Uk and Australia, I have been to many cenotes previous and was looking forward to San Ignatio. I was so disappointed. It was very expensive to enter the grounds, the cenote was very small, a low ceiling and the circumfrance not much larger than a swimming pool.... More

Our group visited the cenote at San Ignacio on a very hot day. It is an underground cenote that has about 50 rather steep stairs to get to it. There is a hand rail but was still very precarious. However, it was oh so worth it. there is not much space to stand around so if you go down, plan... More

If you have never been to a cenote this is one you can at least say you have been to. The scenery is very pretty but very small and the swimming area is very small The stairs down to the cenote are steep and even once you get down into the cave mastering getting into the water is a bit... More

We visited here in late November and all of us were very happy we did . I will say there are much nicer cenotes to visit , but feel this one is also worth the trip . I did not find the price to be exorbitant . The lockers were free ! You had to give a deposit for the... More

We had a very nice time at this small but beautiful Cenote. After descending about 60 feet on a occasionally slippery stone stair case you enter a low ceiling area at the entrance to a cave. It opens up to a rocky but open Cenote both beautiful and inviting. The water was cool, clean and refreshing! We did not eat at... More

The setting is quite nice and certainly not hard to find. While small, the cenote is delightful. We had it to ourselves most of the time. They do seem to charge you for everything on the grounds. We even had to pay to use the hammocks that were then taken down. I'll admit, some of the misunderstanding may be due... More

We visited this cenote last year and also about 2 years ago (our first visit). The first time we had it nearly to ourselves, which made the experience more mysterious. The cenote is in a cave underground down some narrow steps; you may have to bend slightly to navigate under the roof of the cave. Once underground you're on the... More

We went to Cenote San Ignacio on a family holiday to western Yucatan, combining it with Uxmal on a day trip. We visited during the week and first had lunch at the restaurant where we found that we were the only diners. The food and service were good. The menu had quite a few Yucatan specialties and I chose the... More

Small underground swimming hole. Fun stop for families. Park next door off the street next to the restaurant, don't eat at the restaurant. Bring a face mask or be prepared to pay ~40 pesos to rent one, if you want to see the rock formations under the crystal clear water.
