Always our first stop

When we visit Cancun every year, we go to La Distilleria at least once a week. The food is excellent. They used to bring a tuna dip as a free appetizer. My favorite! And fresh chips and salsa. I almost always get the Bullshot Steak...and my husband loves the Molcaheti. Drinks are large and well made. The mariachi performers are always entertaining and the staff is funny and competent. I went on this site to see if I could find a recipe for their warm corn cake. Haven't found its match anywhere. We also bring our guests there and have always had a great meal and a good time.More

Strong drinks, Mexican vibe

The drinks here were excellent and strong! The service was so attentive and nice as well. Our starter of chips and salsa was nice and fresh and warm! I love warm tortilla chips they’re the best thing ever! My husband’s mixed meat molcajete was superb,...full of flavor, and tortillas that came on the side fresh. I ordered the stuffed Chile relleno but to be honest they could have done with more flavor. The chilies themselves were bland, and the tomato sauce was as well. I was a little disappointed in the authentic Mexican dish. All in all though I would be back, but would stick with the molcajete.More

Management has gone downhill

I went with my family for dinner. Appetizers were good, and main dishes tasty as always When I ordered dessert, I requested a corn cake that comes with Rompope (a Mexican artisanal liquor), and they brought it without the liquor. When I asked the waiter...for it, he sent the manager over to tell me that they didn’t have rompope...a local liquor, which is a basic component of the dish they’re offering? He didn’t even have the courtesy of asking if I wanted another dessert instead of that one... they even had the lack of common sense of putting it in the bill. Because of this and the experiences of the previous visit, well, I guess this is goodbye for one of the restaurants that I religiously visited when on vacation at Cancun.More

Nice traditional food, big size portions

Visited 14 years ago, and again this time- same traditional Mexican food, tasty, hugeeee margaritas, good service, a nice place for casual dining when in the area

Local Mexican food with great view

We ate at this place two years ago and like it. So we decided to go back. Only a 10 minute walk from the Westin Lagunamar. We were seated on the veranda outside with the view on the lagoon. Very nice setting. Staff was friendly....However the menus were old and overused. It was the cheapest of the three places we ate for dinner. the cost for two came to about $ 50.00. But the food was just average and not as good as we remembered from two years ago. Would not recommend it. Although more expensive we would recommend Porforios which has a similar setting.More

Excellent food

The Spicy Mad Salmon was very good. It wasn’t too spicy for me (and I don’t try to get spicy dishes, I just love salmon). My companion got the Bull Shot Steak. He couldn’t get over how good it tasted. And he is a choosy...eater. We finished the meal with flan. It was a large serving and very, very good! I can’t comment on the alcoholic drinks, but they are likely made with the same excellence and pride their food is. Marco was our excellent waiter backed up by many caring helpers..More

Lively atmosphere, great music

We ate here during our week long dental vacation in Cancun. Loved the outdoor terrace over the lagoon and the live mariachi music. My mango margarita may have been the best of my trip. Guacamole was the best. My husband loved the fish, I had...a soup and quesadillas. The tables were well spaced apart, staff wore masks and it felt safe. We were also able to park our rental car out front, no charge. Super easy and fun.More

Amazing Experience

Very Friendly Staff flavorful dishes and variety in the menu to choose from .Bartender Jose recommended a delicious Mezcal and was very knowledgeable about the product.

Best Mexican food in Cancun!

Best Mexican food in Cancun! Their margaritas are incredible!!!! Been there many times and never disappoints, service it’s top notch, their rib eye molcajete is delicious. Must visit when in Cancun”

beware!!!

i went to this restaurant last year when i visited Cancun and decided to go back. To my surprse they are now gorging on tourist. I ordered a fajita platter and the initial bill came and the price was $48 US, i paid the bill...and shortly there after the waiter came back and said it was a mistake and the new bill was $106 US. I was abit outraged but paid and left. I will never return to this restaurant again. Beware of the peice changes if you venture here.More
