The food and service was outstanding. The meal started with fresh, warm baguettes with creamy avocado spread. Next we enjoyed the very tasty French onion soup and the chef’s special mango and strawberry salad. The fish of the day was grouper with lemon butter sauce with capers. Delicious! Finished the meal with crepe brûlée. Wine & Belgian beer. Thursday nights they have live jazz music, our evening featured Wayne Keenan. We can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner last night at this lovely waterfront restaurant in Quetzal area. Our martinis were perfect, my warm salad appetizer with lobster was delicious. The salmon and mussels were great and we finished with the Creme Brulee. The service was friendly and competent, the view outstanding. If the large gate entrance is closed just walk into the Hotel Imperial Laguna lobby and ask get around back to the waterfront restaurant. I messaged them to confirm our time.

The restaurant is Nestle in the back of the Hotel Imperial Laguna on Quetzal Street. Restaurant, is open air for the most part, with some tables right next to the lagoon.
The variety of food transition from the very sophisticated to the mainstream carefully prepared and excellently presented.
Prices are reasonable $$. Try the chocolate mousse.

This out of the way restaurant is tucked away in a building that doesn't make the best impression until you walk through the garden path and come to La Palapa Belga restaurant which is charming and delicious . If you like mussels, order the appetizer as a meal. It's hugs and delicious. Jonge was an excellent waiter and the setting was so peaceful.

We returned once again as we have for many years. Tucked away behind a hotel, this restaurant has great food in an unbeatable setting. The duck breast special is one of our perennial favorites. The open air location on the lagoon provides a great view of the hotel zone across the way.

La Palapa Belga is my favorite restaurant in Cancun. It is a bit hard to find off the main road in hotel zone so take a taxi to it the first time. We went two times while we were in Cancun in Feb of 2020 and both times had amazing food and wine. It is tucked away behind a boutique hotel on the lagoon side of the hotel zone but the view is nice overlooking the water and some of the hotels. It is outdoors but protected from wind most to the time. I would recommend the duck with cherry sauce or any of their fish specials. We had 6 people the first time and 7 the next time and all raved about the food. One night we had a saxophone player that was quite good. The staff was attentive.

Love, love, love. The food exceptional! The service divine. Ahhhhh, the ambiance. We sat on the pier overlooking the beautiful water, moon shining down, with beautifully lit buildings in the background reflecting on the water. Our waiter was charming. We split the chef’s appetizer selection which was a delightful mixture of shrimp, scallops and mussels in tarragon sauce. Then we split a delicious salad of arugula, goat cheese, apples and walnuts. My friend’s entree was sautéed shrimp in pepper sauce. Mine was a seafood stew (Flemish style). Both were exceptional. Then the dessert!!! OMG!! Mine was sautéed apples in caramelized butter. My friend’s - her all time favorite - Meringue with ice cream and raspberry sauce! She was in heaven!! It’s an adorable restaurant co-located with a Boutique Hotel. My friend’s 4th visit, my 2nd but will not be our last! A hidden gem that you don’t want to pass up if your in Cancun!!

Food was amazing. Loved the tuna tartara, gratinated mushrooms and mussels belgian style. We didnt know which main plate was best as we all loved the rosemary lamb, the seafood plate with a delicious celery taste and the orange duck. For dessert, you cant miss the typical and delicious crème brulée and merengue. Drinks were great. The sauvignon blanc they have is delicious!

The view is amazing! The food is a good price. The wine list is being updated and we were referred to a couple of choices and it was terrific. Staff was helpful and attentive. They spoke English and Spanish and made us feel very welcome. The place is tucked away and you wouldn’t even know it was there if you didn’t know about it. We ate French onion soup, pescado del día and seafood in a white sauce! We loved it all! Ramiro was very accommodating. Definitely will be back at this little gem of a place.

After years of coming to Cancun, I finally ate here, and had the best meal I’ve ever had in Cancun. Comfortable, good wine list with Mexican wines, peaceful ambiance overlooking the water. I had the rack of lamb and the salad from the daily menu, which was excellent. It’s not flamboyant or loud but the food is worth the trip. Easy walk from El Presidente.

We celebrate our son’s 9 years birthday there. Amazing lagoon view with a hidden spot.
Ramiro is amazing waiter and taking care of us. Kids love bread, new york steak. It comes with broccoli, zucchini, and carrot. They love the tartar with beef. We have a mushroom soup, a signature warm salad 🥗 with scallop. Shrimp in the Mexican way! Also the snail is yummy!
Pinot Grigio, old fashion are amazing.
Chef gives chocolate moss for the birthday boy in the loving way!
The place is a hidden gem!

George, Ramiro (Romeo) and Victor, great waiters! Ramiro was our main waiter but they work as a team which provides great care for the customers.
The fish was unbelievably good. If you have questions about anything just ask.
The restaurant is tucked back along the lagoon behind a small hotel. It’s worth the find, the tiramisu is wonderful too👍

We are not into Mexican food so we were looking for option, the place is hard to find, in a side street behind a hotel, but on the lagoon .
We are from Belgium so we are picky, the food was great, bread was a nice change from the chips we get every where ( I do not like them , everywhere it is the same , they are thick , hard, where are the Doritos)my steak tartare was great, onion soup for the husband was very good, we shared the mussels traditionally prepared, a bit over cooked but plentiful and good. Dessert soso, my crepes Suzette were okay and the dame Blanche for my husband was okay too . We will definitely go back, draw back is a lack of standing taxi, had to wait a bit but the person at the front desk of the hotel called one for us.

Phenomenal food. One of the best restaurants we have eaten at in Cancun. Every item that was served was beyond delicious. There were so many things on the menu that we want to try. We will have to make several return trips to try them all. We had the French onion soup and the asparagus with scallops appetizer. For our main dish we had lamb ribs and stuffed chicken breast. We finished the evening out with Creme Brule and chocolate moose. All delicious.

My husband and I ate here tonight and will absolutely be back. We were looking for someplace small and quiet where we could hear ourselves talk. This place had all of that plus great food and service and a beautiful location on the lagoon. We had some Mexican wine (not even sure if I even knew that Sauvignon Blanc would grow in Mexico) and a cheese plate to start and we could have stopped there and been quite happy. I had a salad that was really good and my husband had the fettuccine which was a tiny bit salty but still delicious. If you are looking for something quiet and non-chain, this is worth finding. ♥️
