This is no doubt the best restaurant of Cancun, people is super nice and food is just delicious, never thought that a restaurant this alternative wold be such a cozy place to laugh with friends, will come back and recommend
I have been to this place quite a few times for different reasons but never just to hang out. I’ve been at many art exhibits, concerts, and other art related events. The place is nice, the food is good, but going at this time with...so much heat is basically unbearable. A few fans are not enough. I love the artwork on their walls and the fact that it is always changing.More
Atmosphere was pretty cool but the place was very (unreasonably so) difficult to find. They are trying so hard to be trendy our cab driver of 30 years in Cancun had a hard time finding the place. No signage no obvious markings. The food was...uninspired and pretty bland. Too bad we, were really looking forward to our visit based on other reviews but the service and food left quite a bit to be desired. In the end they couldn't even call us a cab because "they don't do that". We were left to walk to the closest major street and hail a cab.More
First of all, the food was absolutely outstanding! We had the hummus stuffed mushrooms to start, and I had vegan fajitas while the hubs had The Sloppy Chipotle. Every bite was better than the last and the portions were generous. The iced Irish coffees were...the icing on the cake; I'd never had an iced Irish coffee but I think I'm spoiled now.
However, what really sets Mora Mora apart is the vibe, the atmosphere. We were only planning on having dinner then heading out to the club, but we enjoyed it all so much we ordered another coffee and just chilled for an hour more. The restaurant is set in the middle courtyard of an old Spanish type villa, but there is thought provoking graffiti everywhere, and even the menu has political poetry and statements throughout. It all certainly made for some good conversation starters; in fact the menu was so well done with literature, I asked if I could take one home and was enthusiastically told yes. Over our two-ish hours there, two different live bands played a few songs and a female doo-wop group beautifully harmonized their hearts out to lively applause. After the bands left the stage, they played a Spotify station of ChillStep music that I eventually had to ask them for, as each song was so perfect for a laid back meal and conversation. At no point was the music ever overpowering but it certainly held the attention.
Mora Mora is a fantastic place to go with friends or a laid back dinner date. It takes a few minutes to find and you have to make a reservation, as it has a very 1920's speakeasy vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if the younger crowd held political meetings there.
I don't speak much Spanish, but the entire experience was so outstanding, I had to use Google translate to let the Mami at the door know just how pleased we were with the entire evening spent there. 10/10 will go back.More
We're on our honeymoon and I'm so thankful my husband booked us dinner at Mora Mora's. The restaurant is a pleasant surprise...when you first arrive it's hidden behind a wall of colorful graffiti. The food was excellent and the prices are great. We started with...appetizers of pan pita bread and pita chips with traditional hummus, habererno cream, raspberry chipolte (amazing) and a must try...the green monster dip with habenero. The dining area is a quaint and warm outdoor courtyard with colorful shadows cast everywhere. Love this place! Highly recommend it if you are wanting a quaint romantic dìning experience and flavorful food. More
Great and different music every night, beautiful terrace, street art ,eclectic menú, original drinks and very nice service make this place unique and a must to visit.Recommendation: make a reservation is always bussy and check the fb page to check the events and music guest.
Saw this place on Diners Drive Ins & Dives (Guy Fieri) and decided to check it out. It was awesome! Food was so good - and the decor was so cool. We were there in the evening but would have liked it for lunch just...for the decor!
Check it out.More
What's good: the place is really cool, the prices are okay, service is nice but slow.
What isn't really good: there's too much choice, food isn't that good.
All in all the place is cool but the food isn't anything special.
I've visited this restaurant a few times. I think it has really cool atmosphere. You have to knock on the door and they let you in. It's outdoor seating with a lot of cool art/graphite on the walls. They have cocktails, reasonably priced and their...food is OK. It's mostly an atmosphere place. They have live bands on fri/sat nights (not sure if it's all the time) only complaint I have is that no one really spoke English. And I guess it's not to be expected since it's not in the hotel zone. I just think it would be extra helpful to have menue items in English as well. Especially considering Cancun has a huge population of expats, and we don't all speak Spanish. Thats the only reason I took a star away.More
