I took my wife here for a nice dinner and neither of us could
Believe the level of service , amazing food and view.
Our waiter, Viktor, was positively outstanding ! He was also accompanied by the entire team of waiters working together. We probably had 4/5 different waiters step in during the meal just to be helpful and provide extra service and they were all great.
COST—> we were under the impression this was a very expensive place and the view /decor definitely deserve it —> however we couldn’t believe how fair and reasonably priced the menu items were.
We knew it would be expensive and prepared to order lightly but when realized it was quite moderate we went to town and ordered a lot !
We had 2 appetizers , a salad, 2 drinks each (total of 4), 2 entrees , plus dessert and our bill only came to $140 including a %20 tip.
Great place ! Highly recommend!

My sister and I had been living outside of Mexico for a while now and were eager to try some taste of home. The tacos were not only authentic and great for foreign tourist to try, but also delicious and original. When you arrive they bring out 4 tostadas with salsas and some small dips, these are great to snack on while you wait for your food.
The service was more than good. The manager stoped by several times throughout the night, and all the waiters were kind, helpful and funny. Since it was my birthday, we were greeted with several complimentary items, which made it a very special day.
The view, particularly in the terrace at around 7pm during sunset is insanely beautiful!! The Mariachi might also stop by and make the experience even better.
Due to the pandemic, they had plenty of new policies and procedures to protect the costumers and employees. We felt safe, it was a lot more preparation than anything I’ve seen in America. Because we are in the pandemic, the restaurant was less busy, so anyone who goes later in the year might find a different pace, however the servers were so nice, I guarantee you will still have a great time.
If you wish to eat good quality Mexican food, pre-approved by this Mexican, while enjoying a nice view and fun music, you should try Porfirio’s. Also if you go, you have to drink some Mezcal! Finally, as the night progresses the music does start to get a bit louder, however This is a great time to get one more mezcal!

Profirio's does not disappoint! From the moment you enter you are taken in by the ambience and gorgeous view overwhelming the bay. Music from my earlier than my childhood to today can be heard while hugs screens play videos, an art-form I thought was lost. The showmanship of food presentation is only surpassed by the quality of the dishes from the tasty ingredients to overall flavor of the meal. And of course all of this is supported by outstanding service. My family and I were fortunate to have Jose Delao and Carlos as our wait staff. They were helpful in selecting the best dishes from the large menu and provided unsurpassed service throughout our dining experience. Another can't miss in Cancun.

On the shores of the Cancun lagoon, this place goes beyond what is expected in a restaurant. The food is delicious, prepared and presented in such original and unique manner. Handsome Josue (Área Manager) was our host along with our expert Maître Oscar, who made my brother’s birthday something really espectacular. Josue cooked my main dish directly on fire. He presented us with churros con chocolate (see image below) and had a surprise for my brother’s celebration. Love this place and recommend handsome Josue and Oscar as they best skillful Mexican gastronomy cuisine experts.

My fiancé and I dined here and celebrated our engagement this evening. Gustavo and Nacho were our servers - they were outstanding. The ambiance, food, service and drinks were great. We ordered the tuna tostada, some margaritas, beer, whiskey, two entrees (beef and chicken), and the churros. It started to rain and Nacho was very attentive and moved us right away because we were outside getting a little wet. Both inside and outside are excellent. Nacho recommended great food and cocktails - he clearly knew the menu very well. Our bill came to $120 and we had 3-4 rounds of drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Great value. Go to this restaurant!!!! Tuna was my fav.

Coming from New York City (NYC) we have been to Cancun six times and can say with all honesty that this restaurant is by far the best dining experience you can find. It is exceptional, and not only for Cancún, but it rivals any dining experience you can get in NYC as well. The food (steaks $15-$25 USD) and drinks ($11 cocktails) are top notch, but it’s the little things that make this place exceptional. Things like the purse hanger they offer to each table (imagine a small coat rack for purses), or the free daycare “kids club” in the restaurant with full time baby sitter and iPad to take to your table to watch your kids play while you eat, or the little menu lights they give you for when the sun goes down. This place has a lot going for it, but the true crown jewel is the service. This wait staff offers true four star, world class service. Our service team tonight of Josue, Sergio and Jorgue made tonight the best night of our trip. The only bad thing about writing this review it will probably be harder for me to get a table next time we come to visit.

My husband brought me here for my birthday dinner.
Beautiful decorated restaurant.
We wanted to sit outside so we waited a few mins to be able to be given the table we wanted. They dont give you a good physical menu but they have you scan a QR code to keep everyone safe. I ordered a margarita which was probably a big enough glass to share for 2 people, i wish I was told this before hand. Once we all ordered our drinks, a mixologist came to our table and offered his services to create drinks for us, i was pretty upset the waiter didnt give us an opportunity for the mixologist to come to us before we were asked for drinks.
We ordered the guacamole and corn in a cup for apps. The corn was hard and not so flavorful even w the mayo and cheese side condiments. For entrees we ordered the mezcal shrimp, surf and turf, salmon, and tortilla soup. We all enjoyed the food very much along w the show that came w the food. Mid dinner we were interrupted by an amazing show. Everyone were given sparklers and waiters put on a skull mask and mariachis came out. I was so surprised and i loved it so much! Music is loud but great selection, if you dont like loud music i dont think youd be able to tolerate it.
My husband secretly told the waiter it was my birthday and to bring a cake. So when it was time he put the cake in the middle of the table and not even in front of me and left. So much for special..(not)
He even put it in front of the WRONG person which made it even more awkward bc it wouldve been weird if i just grabbed it and put it in front of me. Surprisingly out check came out cheap, $160 for 4 people?! Thats unheard of in my book for the type of view and show we received. Besides the bday mishap we tipped 30%, thanks for the beautiful view and experience

We are staying in the hotel zone the front desk recommended Porfirio’s for dinner. We had read that the prices were high and he told us it was a 20 minute walk, he highly recommended it. Off we went. We caught the bus for a dollar each and 5 minutes later we arrived. The place was beautiful. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night with no reservations, I recommend you make reservations. We scanned a qr for the menu when Texaco arrived at our table. Texaco is the best bartender ever! We are not big drinkers so we told him some things we like and he quickly returned with drinks that were perfect. He was quite entertaining was well. Emilio and his helper Fernando were excellent they made meal suggestions that were on point. The street corn and tortilla soup was great but the entree was a entertaining experience that became the best food we had eaten in the last seven years of traveling to Cancun area annually. My wife’s pork tacos were brought out on a hibachi grill and the meat shaved table side. Next, my shrimp were brought table side and cooked by fire as it rolled from kettle to soup to platter. Although this was quite entertaining the taste was excellent. I will say that towards the end of eating my shrimp,while eating the pineapple onions and other items i bit into a pepper that was extremely hot. That was not enough to put a damper on the evening. My thanks toEmilio, Texaco and Fernando for giving us a great evening in Cancun. Also thanks to their body’s Koko.

Porfirio’s is an amazing restaurant and has one of the best music playlists I’ve ever listened to. I wanted to get up and dance the whole time. The service is fast and super-friendly (Victor, Memo, and Rafa), they were able to accommodate vegetarian requests and any excess food requests! 10/10 recommend for tequila, music, and photo ops

We came here super late after having a terrible experience at another restaurant.
We sat down & immediately I could tell the customer service was going to be great. Our server recommended us some food options & we ended up choosing a cheesy shrimp appetizer. IT WAS SO GOOD! For our entrees I had the steak & shrimp. I like my steak well done & always have a problem with it being too dry & I had the opposite issue here. My steak was so juicy I couldn’t believe it. My girlfriend had the Crab tacos & it was a very tropical tasting dish. Not what I had in mind but it didn’t disappoint at all. It was my birthday & they came out with a super cute celebration song & cake that was to die for! It’s not on their menu so I won’t blow the surprise lol. After we wrapped everything up they brought us popcorn which was kind of interesting but it was a nice closing snack.
Overall this was a great restaurant & we spent $120 on our bill between 2 people for water, Appetizer, & 2 entrees. Definitely worth the money!

We were warned about the volume of the videos before we went but it was too late to go anywhere else for Valentine's Day. I asked for the volume to be turned down and they tried but it was still loud. The waiters were very accommodating and did make suggestions. My fish was dry, the appetizer was fatty, meatballs not tasty. So overall food was average. But the staff did try their best.

We went there to celebrate a special occasion, a birthday for a family member, so I choose the most "highly rated" one of the more expensive Mexican restaurant expecting a bit of an exclusive experience.. When we arrived, we got ushered into a packed restaurant with no semblance of social distancing between seats. We had requested a table outside in our reservation, expecting something with a water view. There was only a small table available which could seat 3 within 10 inches of two other tables next to it. We declined that...and they found us something towards the exit but at least it was not in a crowded area. We went ahead and ordered our usual cocktails, appetizers, entrees etc. Cocktails were the worst we have had during our two week trip to Tulum, Playa and Cancun... lacked complexity and flavor. Meanwhile the DJ was playing rock and disco songs from 80's. It was decidedly different genre than most other high end restaurant's and beachclubs we had been this trip which had great DJ's mixing cool house music. Entrees were ok but nothing to write home about. Frankly we had much better in other restaurants. Meanwhile, hoards of other mask less customers started to fill in, some coming right by our table. When we told this to the manager, he said he cant do anything about mask less customers. We were a bit surprised as practically all restaurants we have gone on this trip, have required customers to wear masks. We could not wait to get out of there. We cut our dinner short and left.. First and last time at this restaurant.

Surf & Turf lobster was dry and steak underdone. They fixed the steak and it was delicious the second time around. Service and view were excellent. Complimentary popcorn was cold and stale at end of meal so really just ended up being a detraction along with the very expensive price tag for the meal.
Asked lots of questions when we entered but didn’t do anything with it that benefited us (ie 30th wedding anniversary)?

I was in Cancun mid January and had the pleasure of visiting Porfirio's. My friends and I made a reservation via our hotel concierge and then took a taxi to the restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and shown right to our table, We were seated just inside the moveable patio doors and had a great view of the water. The table and chairs were comfortable too. There was even one of those purse stands for our handbags.
Our table was served by Angel and Brayan and they were fantastic. Angel helped me pick out a drink based on my favorite drink flavors. He also helped select excellent appetizers and entrees. Everything was well prepared and presented. The drinks were beautiful as well.
We chose a shared dessert of the Churro Cart (we saw it at another table and right away knew we wanted it.) The churros were lovely and came with 5 flavors for dipping. Angel also offered us dessert drinks with the churros and two of us ordered an amazing tequila at his suggestion to conclude the meal.
Overall, we had a great experience. The price was reasonable for what we ordered and the service was excellent. We even considered returning the next day but we didn't quite have enough time before we had to travel home. I will come back when I'm next in Cancun!

We were excited to visit Portfiro’s as this was our very first time dining with them. We are avid fans of Harry’s as well as many of the Anderson restaurants.
Service was impeccable as was the atmosphere which played great music that was an extreme pleasure to listen to while dining.
The drinks absolutely delish so imagine our surprise and disappointment when our food was served and found to be the very worst.
Bland is the epitome of the dinners we ordered. octopus 2 ribeyes with bone marrow and the mole chicken enchiladas.
We are seasoned travelers and have spent twenty plus years in Cancun. The food was so disappointing that we left hungry and frustrated that such a beautiful entertaining place could be such a huge disappointment. The Asparagus was good. We ordered potatoes and they were very bland as well as appeared to of been sitting out for hours.
My mole chicken enchiladas were taken off the bill. 2 orders of ribeyes with bone marrow were tasteless and left so much to be desired.
As my son stated this was the very worst meal we’ve encountered in years. Even the churros were bad the strawberry sauce was less tasty than plain jam and the white creme was neither custard flavor nor vanilla it’s so unfortunate that this spectacular beauty offers zero flavor on the food spectrum. Again the staff was awesome as was the music ..
I hope the flavorless food can be rectified and brought up to the Anderson standards.
Such a disappointment as our waitstaff was absolutely wonderful as was the music, atmosphere and drinks!
