Whenever we visit Cancun, this is on our must do list. Service and atmosphere are exceptional in the romantic garden. Highly recommend!

We have been going to Cancun and other cities in Mexico for close to thirty years. Initially we always visited La Habichuela downtown and were never disappointed. They opened a second restaurant in the Hotel District but it never met the standards that the downtown...restaurant maintained. We were in Cancun this January and dined at this restaurant twice. Our meals were phenomenal. The almond crusted fish is out of this world as well as the ceviche, soft shell crab, and the house salad was so refreshing. The atmosphere can't be beat, and it is just such a pleasure to see an establishment with such high standards of excellence thrive even during the pandemic. We were impressed.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at La Habichuela. My husband declared the ceviche the best he’s ever had and he felt equally as passionate about the Cadillac Margarita. We enjoyed every aspect of this experience from the outstanding service to the appetizers, the delicious dinner,...and the beautiful ambiance.More

You cannot stumble to this place, it's in one of the side streets. Weather permitting, sit in the courtyard, it is cute. The service was of the highest quality, including a strict hierarchy: a senior waiter, a sub-ordinate one, and a busboy.: they were helpful...and always available. The food itself was good. I'm an octopus lover and it was the best outside of Portugal, which to me is way above the rest of the world :) The meat was cooked just right, soft and juicy. Supposedly famous soup Habichuela was good, I wouldn't hesitate to order it again, but I wouldn't go back just because of it. Btw, it's made of green beans, a pleasant and unusual taste. The dinner for two cost us 1,800 pesos, no wine, which is not cheap, but seems not too expensive in Cancun. And it was worth it, wouldn't mind to come back. My friend took pictures to come back with his wife, and he is local.More

This is our 4th trip over many years and this is a must stop with a stunning outside atmosphere , the food and drinks are amazing but the environment makes you feel like you’re in a Mayan jungle adventure. We loved it and our kids...always find amazing options to eat as well. Still awesome drinks on New Year’s Eve and the best service. You won’t be disappointedMore

Just when I think Cancun has gone over the edge, trading reputation for the easy money, I go to Habichuela. Sr. Pezzotti's restaurant takes me back to the day when I would get an excellent experience at most restaurants in Cancun. Still offering new things...in cocktails. I had an excellent mezcal tropicale, and a passion fruit mojito. My daughter had a passion fruit margarita. I had filet and lobster, served to perfection with shrimp. Others at my table had filet medallions and chicken. The caesar salad is still served at tableside, completely from scratch. The Habichuela soup is as good as it was the first time I had it. Flaming Mayan Coffee and Strawberries Jubilee. It's a modest show, delightful. As was our host. Gracias, Armando!More

I lived in Cancun from 1995-1997, working at Carlos n Charlies and Senor Frogs as an MC. I ate at La Habichuela a few times when I lived there. It was always a great experience. I haven't been since, but it's nice to see reviews...and know that it is still as good 25 years later as it was then!More
