During our recent visit to the Playacar area just south of Playa Del Carmen, my wife and I wanted to find good seafood at a restaurant where the locals eat and not on the very touristy Avenida 5. We also wanted to walk there and not too far. The answer was El Gusto Jarocho just north of Avenida Juarez on... More

My wife and me love tacos and during all stay in Playa de Carmen we went El Fogon but that day we went there too early the they didn't open yet. We asked a server for a good seafood restaurant. He recommended us Mariqueria El Gusto Jarocho. We were tired of the food at the 5th Ave only for the... More

We have found this restuarant to provide good seafood at very reasonable prices. Service is also excellent. We brought some friends with us last time and had lobster tails and whole deep fried fish. All the food was fresh and prepared simply with great flavor. I agree with the other reviewer, get away from the 5th Ave restaurants (some of... More

Tired of the 5th avenue tourust trap, we ventured to the place( next door to KFC) and had an amazing experience. Staff was wonderful. I recommend tbe seafood soup or Paeyea. Burritoes and fajihitas ordinary but seafood extraordinary! We will go back

Call2 and Ave 30. No trip to Playa del Carmen should be considered without a stop at this unassuming , quaint restaurant. It’s 5 blocks west of Ave 5 but well worth the short walk. My brother and I made two visits for a total of 4 dinners. The seafood spaghetti comes with a mildly spiced sauce and is thick... More

This a very good restaurant, the food and service are great. I've always liked to eat seafood where the locals eat. Shrimp Tacos are something to die for!! Drinks are extremely cheap! You can have a great full meal for not more than $10 USD.
