We had the crispy bacon and tomato eggs Benny. It was quite good, comes with baby potatoes and fried onions. You get a good healthy portion. Servers were friendly and attentive. The orange juice was refreshing but not fresh squeezed.

I had the fish tacos which to be quite honest were nothing special. They were kind of bland. On the other hand I also had a smoothie which was absolutely outstanding. In fact I had two of them they were so good. So it's a...mixed review, great smoothie but kind of bland lunchMore
Visited tropical for afternoon drinks. Tasty & ok priced. Didn’t eat here. Great interior decor, nice vibe, wifi available.
Awesome breakfast. I had the mexicana and my wife had the chilaquiles with eggs in a green sauce. Both were very tasty. I also had a bagel with cream cheese and they definitely gave you enough cream cheese. I had an American coffee and orange...juice and my wife had a cappuccino and both were very good. We will definitely be going back. The service was excellent and very friendly.More
Excellent Mexican food and cocktails, service was great and they didn’t bother us unless we wanted them for more drinks! Would highly recommend this restaurant for true, authentic Mexican food at a very reasonable price! £74 for food, 2 beers and 4 cocktails! 😊
I had the ceviche in salsa verde and the enchiladas en mole Poblano. My waiter Aurelio was on point. I recommend it highly
Mediocre and way overpriced for the quality and quantity. I’ve had less expensive and way better Mexican food in California. Not sure who left all these rave reviews but $12 for tasteless guacamole? Chicken enchiladas with hard cheese? My bad for not researching better I...gave them one extra star for the electrical outlet that was next to my table and allowed me to charge my phone. That was the best part of my meal.More
Had a reservation for 15 friends last night to have drinks, dinner and watch the Playa Del Carmen Carnival Parade. Tables were set up upon arrival. We all ordered drinks which quickly arrived. Everyone ordered dinner at the same time and the very tasty food...was delivered one dish after the other. No one was left waiting for food while the rest ate. Waite staff were continually checking on us. Bonus was when the owner came by and gave everyone a card for a discount. Tropical has also been a go to place for a very good bacon, eggs, potatoes breakfast. Look forward to our next visit.More
Very disappointed. The meals were very underwhelming. Extremely basic. Steak and shrimp were very over cooked in the tacos, it felt like it was reheated meats dried out over the day. No special combinations of ingredients. Really lacking in flavor. Probably the saddest tacos I’ve...ever had. Same for the fajitas. We also ordered the fried cheese dish, again very underwhelming. Really just a gimmicky restaurant. Very very shocked at the positive reviews.More
we stop in for drinks and lunch every year, food is very good, plenty to eat, good value , service is always excellent. this is not a tourist trap, traditial . relaxing with a great view over looking 5th ave
We want to have a tipical mexican food to celebrate the day of Mexico and we saw this little and beautifull place with a singular Mexican decoration, I order the Pimiento relleno with shrimp or seafood and was DELICIOUS, also they have a good service...and good priceMore
the lobster was really good. it would be very good with fresh garlic. the location is really unique. you really feel good. it was unique
Right on Ave 5 so honestly we were reluctant and usually try to find places a little less touristy but we were hungry and just wanted breakfast so we stopped. Lucky us! The food was great. We went back again (for breakfast) and it was...the day after my son’s birthday. The owner overheard us and came over. He gave us shots of mezcal amaras and chatted saying it was his favorite. How nice and generous! Food is good and a great spot for people watching.More
Food was delicious, decor is stunning, staff are very attentive and friendly. Pan de cazon and Pollo Xtabentun are amazing
We stopped here twice . The first time was just for their special 2 beers for 71 pesos ( limited to certain brands). Next time we stopped to eat since I had perused their menu and it offered a variety of items that would appeal...to the different people in our party of four. The prices were very reasonable as well. The tacos and guacamole were very good. I tried a local dish molcajete. Our waiter was super friendly, attentive with just a touch of dry wit. The location on 5th Avenue/ la Quinta is also great for people watching. We were very satisfied with our experience.More
