In a city so rich in history and cuisine, we found The Restaurant a little disappointing. The food and service were fine, as you'd expect at a high-end restaurant. However, we'd just had a great dinner the night before a few blocks away and ordered a bottle of wine there, but at The Restaurant this same bottle was nearly double... More

I think it is among the most consistent meals in SMA. I really like the appetizers. Highly recommend the tuna, Brussels sprout salad and marshmellow sundae. Beware that Thursday is burger night. Don't love the burgers, and they don't have entrees on Thursday.

It's a nice place to Dinner, not spectacular in my point of view but very good. Very good service and decent prices for the quality of the food.

Yummy place. Rabbit tostadas were amazing. So was the tomato risotto. The kale/brussel sprout salad - so tasty and still can't figure out what they dressed it with. And could not resist the burnt caramel ice cream with marshmallow sauce & toasted peanuts. Love the cardamon coffee liquor.

We attended our first group event ( a wedding rehearsal dinner) in this facility and it would be simply impossible to improve upon it! Donnie Masterson secured the bar area exclusively for our group; provided exquisite appetizers beautifully presented, great 'dry' Margaritas and splendid main courses of prime rib, their 'signature pork chop' and delicious salmon, all perfectly prepared and... My date and I arrived on a Saturday at 5.40 p.m. We were told, since we had no reservations, that, yes, indeed, this small table behind the hostess' desk was available and within 10 minutes a very tired looking menu was presented to us. Beside us was a table with 3 adults and 2 boys about 3 years of age.... More

Have visited this restaurant a few times in the past several years and been unimpressed. This April on a whim we tried again and were impressed by both the service and the food. The hostess went out if her way to seat us at a table tucked away from foot traffic in a quiet place we preferred. Our waiter was... More

THE RESTAURANT, housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16, opened in February 2008 featuring Chef Donnie Masterton’s world class cuisine. It is located just steps away from the main square of San Miguel de Allende, the prettiest and most restored/written-about Colonial city in all of Mexico. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner five days a week in a sun-dappled eighteen century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon.Serving global comfort good, THE RESTAURANT’s menu reflects the changing seasons with a focus on the simplicity of fine ingredients. The Chef collaborates with local organic growers, dairy farmers and ranchers to procure the freshest, highest quality and responsibly raised product available. Catering to today’s more experienced, adventurous and health conscious diners, The Restaurant will emphasize quality in food and customer service…as well as a more involved relationship with respect to our food and the land it comes from.
